We're building a lean, high-performing marketing team that leverages automation, A.I., strategic thinking, and tactical execution to support our growth while maintaining our brand excellence and customer experience. Position Overview We're seeking a Marketing Content & Brand Specialist Intern to manage content creation, brand expression, and customer communication touchpoints across our growing portfolio. This role is perfect for someone looking for hands-on experience in a wide variety of brand and content marketing and influencing how a brand shows up in the world—from LinkedIn posts to facility signage, to prospect text messages, to executive presentations, to email marketing, to website design – and who wants to develop deep expertise in brand consistency, content development, and marketing operations while building the systems that will scale our marketing function. You'll work directly with our VP of Marketing and key Marketing Stakeholders to ensure every piece of content we create is on-brand, optimized for performance, and designed to support our aggressive growth trajectory. You'll have significant autonomy to perform tasks, build systems, automate processes, and grow into a strategic marketing role while mastering the fundamentals of brand management, content creation, and SEO-informed copywriting. This is a hands-on internship focused on execution excellence and systems building, with a path to full-time employment as you grow your capabilities and impact. What You'll Do Brand & Visual Content • Serve as the internal brand champion, ensuring consistency across all marketing materials, • Create compelling presentation decks for internal and external audiences using Power Point, Gamma, Canva, or similar tools, • Design signage for new and existing facilities, ensuring brand consistency across the growing portfolio of 130+ locations, • Develop and maintain brand guidelines including visual identity standards, tone of voice, messaging framework, and content templates, • Design clear and engaging LinkedIn posts, social media and website graphics and visual assets that bring our brand to life across digital channels, with special emphasis on LinkedIn, • Own brand consistency across all marketing touchpoints, becoming the internal guardian of how 10 Federal looks, sounds, and feels, • Develop social media graphics and visual content using Canva (or similar) templates and brand assets, • Review and approve marketing materials for brand consistency, • Create templates and systems that scale brand excellence as we grow to 200+ facilities, • Manage all locations with brand assets (including but not limited to Sharefile and Canva) accounting for consistency, • Assist in crafting text message content and assist in strategy for automated customer touchpoints including gate codes, combination lock codes, welcome sequences, and abandoned cart recovery, • Manage 3rd party outreach email campaigns for industry conferences and partnership development, including email design, attendee list management, and response coordination, • Write customer-facing copy that enhances the tenant experience and supports the sales process, • Create and manage content calendars and batch content production to maintain consistent presence with minimal ongoing time investment, • Automate social media processes using scheduling tools, templates, and AI assistance to maximize efficiency- heavy emphasis on LinkedIn., • Manage 10 Federal's LinkedIn presence, developing and scheduling content that positions our company as an industry leader, • Manage 10 Federal’s Meta accounts, appropriate to channel ROI, • Organize and maintain Marketing SharePoint structure including folders for campaigns, assets, templates, presentations, brand guidelines, and documentation, file structure, naming conventions, asset library- making it easy for teams to navigate., • Implement file naming conventions and version control to ensure team can quickly find and use marketing materials, • Create and send internal marketing updates to operations teams, facility managers, technology department, and leadership, • Coordinate communication around new facility launches, campaign rollouts, promotional changes, and marketing initiatives that impact other departments, • Maintain marketing calendar visible to internal stakeholders so teams can anticipate and prepare for marketing activities, • Serve as liaison between marketing and other departments, ensuring smooth information flow and alignment, • Maintain documentation of marketing processes, templates, and brand guidelines in accessible formats, • Learn and apply SEO fundamentals to all content creation, working closely with our Digital Marketing Manager to understand keyword strategy, search intent, and on-page optimization, • Collaborate with SEO and Ads teams to ensure content supports broader marketing objectives and channel performance, • Build systems that automate repetitive tasks using AI tools (Claude or similar), scheduling platforms, and templates, • Batch content creation to work efficiently (e.g., create 3 months of LinkedIn content at once where possible), • Document processes and create SOPs for all repeatable work, • Continuously identify opportunities to work smarter, not harder, • Partner with SEO Manager to learn SEO fundamentals and apply them to content work, • Coordinate with Ads Manager to ensure content supports paid media campaigns, • Work with VP of Marketing on strategic initiatives and brand development, • Participate in cross-functional meetings with operations and technology teams, • Comfort with A.I., Automation, and Thinking in System & Processes: We build strategy with an A.I. & automation first mindset, • Experience with design tools: Proficiency with design software with a minimum of expertise in Canva and Gamma, • Excellent written communication: Ability to write clear, compelling copy that represents our brand professionally, • Strong organizational skills: Natural ability to create order from chaos, maintain file systems, and keep teams informed, • Brand sensibility: Strong eye for visual design, consistency, and attention to detail, • Systems thinking: Natural inclination to build processes, templates, and automation rather than recreating work, • Self-directed learner: Comfortable learning new tools, concepts, and skills independently with guidance, • Technical aptitude: Quick to adopt new software, AI tools, and marketing platforms (including SharePoint/Microsoft 365), • Communication skills: Able to translate marketing strategy into clear updates for non-marketing teams, • Organizational skills: Ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and priorities simultaneously This role is an internship with the opportunity to grow into a full-time position. You will be mentored and taught important marketing functions through the lens of the storage industry. Your performance will dictate opportunities. What Success Looks Like: In your first 30 days: • Text message templates are created and performance set up for tracking, • You've designed 2-3 presentation decks that meet brand standards and catalogued all presentations for A.I. training, • Marketing SharePoint is reorganized with clear structure and naming conventions, with appropriate files in existing folders, • Brand guidelines documentation is underway with established platforms for housing creative assets and appropriate users are able to access, • You're attending bi-weekly training sessions on SEO basics, • You've sent your first internal marketing update to operations teams, • Research storage industry competitors to understand competitive advantages and differentiators of 10 Federal as it pertains to content, • All social media is running on autopilot with minimal weekly maintenance, • Signage design process is templated and efficient, • You've written copy for 5+ new facility launches or updated 5 facility pages with SEO optimization (number is associated with scale of growth over the first 90 days), • Brand consistency is noticeably improved across all touchpoints, • SharePoint is the go-to source for all materials—and everyone can find what they need, • Internal teams consistently receive timely marketing updates and know what's coming, • You're proactively identifying automation opportunities and recorded process for review, • Growing Autonomy from day one: You'll transition into an ‘owner’ with trust and support, • AI-first approach: We teach you to leverage A.I. and automation to multiply your impact, • Direct leadership access: You report directly to the VP of Marketing with high visibility, • Rapid growth environment: Aspirational 67% company growth in 14 months means your work matters immediately, • Systems builder: We value efficiency and smart work—you'll build things that scale, • Career acceleration: Promote from within culture with clear company growth trajectory, • Brand ownership: This isn't just a "make this social post" – your work requires thought that will shape how our brand shows up in the world, • Personal recommendation from a 10 Federal Team Member, • Hands on experience with design creation & execution, • Hands on experience with digital copywriting experience, • Hands on experience with of social media management experience The Content & Brand Specialist Intern position is at least 3 days a week, located in the Raleigh, NC headquarters.
