About the Organization Beyond Bedtime, formerly Pajama Program, is a national nonprofit that helps children discover and experience the superpower of sleep, so they can wake up ready to thrive. Sleep is essential to every child's well-being, yet challenges like disruptive environments, inconsistent schedules, and limited resources often stand between children and the deep, restorative sleep they need. For 25 years, we’ve provided new pajamas, storybooks, and sleep health education to children facing adversity—reaching more than 9 million children across the U.S. Through partnerships with schools, shelters, and community programs, we combine the comfort of cozy pajamas, the magic of storybooks, and evidence-based sleep health education to support families in creating healthy bedtime routines. Position Overview The National Education Director is a strategic education leader responsible for growing, strengthening, and scaling Beyond Bedtime’s sleep health education programs nationwide, with a special focus on New York City. Reporting to the Chief Program Officer, this role will lead program growth strategy, business development, partner relationship management, and program quality oversight, with a focus on expanding fee-for-service revenue through intentional partnerships with schools, districts, early childhood systems, public agencies, and community-based organizations. The ideal candidate brings strong experience in education, adult learning, curriculum design, facilitation, and partnership development, and is energized by building excellent programs as well as the relationships that allow those programs to grow. This position supervises the Senior Program Manager and a part-time facilitator in Detroit. The role is approximately 80% remote and 20% in person at our New York City program center or a local partner school, candidates must be local to the New York City area. Core Responsibilities Business Development & Partnership Growth • Develop and manage a pipeline of prospective fee-for-service education partners, including school districts, early childhood systems, public agencies, community-based organizations, and national or regional networks., • Lead consultative outreach to prospective partners, identifying needs, presenting Beyond Bedtime’s education offerings, and shaping partnership opportunities that align with both partner goals and organizational revenue priorities., • Collaborate with the Chief Program Officer to develop partnership strategy, pricing models, proposals, scopes of work, and implementation plans for fee-for-service opportunities., • Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers, including district leaders, early childhood administrators, nonprofit executives, public agency staff, and funder-connected partners., • Deepen and grow existing strategic program partnerships, identifying opportunities for expansion, renewal, and long-term engagement., • Represent Beyond Bedtime externally at conferences, coalition meetings, partner convenings, and other field-building opportunities that support program growth and visibility. Program Strategy, Implementation & Scaling • Collaborate with the Chief Program Officer to develop and execute national and local growth strategies for Beyond Bedtime’s sleep health education programs, with a focus on strategic partnerships, scalable implementation, and fee-for-service revenue growth., • Work with the Senior Program Manager to establish strong systems for partner onboarding, relationship management, renewal, and ongoing engagement, creating a community of sleep health ambassadors across schools and partner organizations., • Own and grow relationships with existing strategic program partners, including Fred Rogers Productions, the New York City Department of Education Office of Students in Temporary Housing, United Neighborhood Houses, Children’s Aid, and other key partners, with a focus on quality implementation, expansion opportunities, and long-term partnership value., • Develop and execute implementation plans that meet programmatic, impact, and revenue goals, with particular attention to deepening high-value partnerships in the NYC area and expanding scalable opportunities nationally., • Design and oversee a conference and field-engagement strategy that supports visibility, lead generation, partnership development, and national scaling goals., • Oversee programmatic grant management and reporting requirements, including relationships with key grant stakeholders, tracking grant-related KPIs, and designing implementation processes that support successful outcomes and future funding opportunities. Program Quality, Curriculum & Evaluation • Oversee ongoing updates to education content to ensure all curricula and trainings are trauma-informed, culturally responsive, asset-based, developmentally appropriate, engaging for adult learners, and tied to measurable learning outcomes and behavior change., • Facilitate high-quality training sessions for educators, family support staff, and partner organizations, while also building systems that allow facilitation to scale beyond any one individual., • Collaborate with the Chief Program Officer and Data & Analytics Manager to strengthen internal and external evaluation tools, using data, partner feedback, and participant outcomes to inform programmatic decisions and demonstrate impact., • Regularly report on programmatic progress, partner engagement, implementation quality, revenue-related goals, and participant outcomes using quantitative and qualitative data., • Collaborate with the Senior Program Manager to gather testimonials, partner feedback, and qualitative data, and regularly partner with Development and Communications to share stories of impact that support fundraising, visibility, and partnership growth. Team Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration • Supervise the Senior Program Manager, providing ongoing coaching, observation, feedback, and support., • Supervise the part-time Facilitator in Detroit., • Provide clear direction, accountability, and support to ensure strong implementation, partner experience, and program quality across education programs., • Serve as a senior program leader within the organization, collaborating closely with Development, Communications, Operations, Data and Analytics, and executive leadership., • Help build a culture of excellence, responsiveness, learning, and continuous improvement across the education team. Other • Perform special projects and other duties as assigned. Qualifications Required • At least seven years of experience in education, early childhood, adult learning, curriculum development, program design, or a related field, with demonstrated experience scaling education programs or partnerships., • Demonstrated experience developing, managing, or expanding strategic partnerships with schools, districts, early childhood systems, public agencies, nonprofits, or community-based organizations., • Experience with business development, fee-for-service partnerships, client outreach, sales, account management, or revenue-generating program growth., • Strong relationship-building skills, including the ability to engage senior leaders, understand partner needs, and translate those needs into clear programmatic opportunities., • Experience managing complex projects from strategy through implementation, including timelines, stakeholders, deliverables, and outcomes., • Strong understanding of adult learning design and facilitation, with the ability to create engaging trainings for educators, caregivers, and family support professionals., • Ability to use data, evaluation, and partner feedback to improve program quality and demonstrate impact., • Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal, and presentation skills with individual and group audiences at all levels., • Experience managing staff and building strong systems for accountability, quality, and continuous improvement., • Comfort representing an organization externally at conferences, convening, funder meetings, and partner presentations. Preferred • Experience developing proposals, scopes of work, partnership agreements, or fee-for-service training models., • Master's Degree in education or social work, • Prior formal teaching experience and/or experience training teachers Compensation & Benefits Salary: $90,000–$100,000 annually. This is a full-time, exempt position. Work schedule: The standard workweek is Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. While regular business hours are the norm, flexibility is required, as occasional evening or weekend work may be necessary to support organizational events, programs, meetings, or other business needs. Work location: This is a primarily remote role with occasional in-person obligations at Beyond Bedtime’s program center, local schools, and/or partner sites; candidates must be local to the New York City area.
