Responsibilities • Assist with interviewing, hiring and training Medical Assistant staff, • Be available to cover shifts when staff call in, • Obtain patient vitals, medical history, and reason for visit, and prepare the patient for a physical exam, • Explain prescribed procedures and treatments to patients, • Ensure all ordered tests are performed accurately and in a timely manner, • Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with the approved procedure, • Draw blood and preparation labs for reference lab processing and/or in-house processing, • Perform laboratory tests, lab-quality controls, and equipment maintenance according to written instructions, • Responsible for lab compliances; must be organized!, • Coordinate oversight of laboratory with Medical Director as needed, • Perform all drug screening procedures in accordance with established rules and regulations, • Ensure patient immunizations are well documented, administered in accordance with approved procedure, and stored appropriately, • Conduct physician referrals as well as service pre-certifications on an as-needed basis, • Prepare exam rooms; sterilize instruments, equipment, and supplies for procedures, • Corrective action conversations with back office employees, • Maintain complete and accurate documentation
