Job DescriptionCommercial Construction Superintendent Overview We are seeking an experienced Commercial Construction Superintendent to lead on-site operations for ground-up and renovation projects. This role is responsible for driving project execution from start to finish—ensuring safety, quality, schedule adherence, and budget control on every build. If you have experience managing commercial job sites, subcontractors, and field operations, we want to hear from you. Responsibilities • Oversee daily on-site construction activities for commercial projects (retail, multifamily, healthcare, industrial, etc.), • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in compliance with safety standards, • Manage and coordinate subcontractors, vendors, and field personnel, • Develop and maintain project schedules, including short-interval planning, • Enforce OSHA safety standards and lead job site safety meetings, • Monitor quality control to ensure work meets plans, specs, and building codes, • Collaborate with Project Managers, Engineers, Owners, and Clients to resolve issues, • Manage site logistics, inspections, and material deliveries, • Maintain accurate daily reports, progress tracking, and documentation, • Identify and proactively solve field challenges to maintain project momentum Essential Skills • Proven experience as a Superintendent in commercial construction, • Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and building systems, • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specs, and construction documents, • Experience managing subcontractors and multi-trade coordination, • Working knowledge of OSHA regulations and job site safety practices, • Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and maintain project schedules, • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills, • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills Preferred Skills & Certifications • Experience with Procore, Bluebeam, PlanGrid, MS Project, or similar tools, • Knowledge of MEP systems coordination (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing), • OSHA 30 Certification (preferred), • CPR / First Aid Certification, • Experience with cost tracking and budget management, • Exposure to LEED / green building practices, • Experience in healthcare, multifamily, or industrial projects, • Bilingual communication skills is a plus (Spanish preferred), • Experience mentoring Assistant Superintendents or field staff Why Work Here? • Lead high-impact commercial construction projects from the ground up, • Work with a collaborative, experienced team that values safety, quality, and innovation, • Opportunity for career growth and leadership development, • Be a key decision-maker with real influence on project success Work Environment • Active commercial construction job sites (indoor & outdoor), • Fast-paced, hands-on role requiring daily field presence, • Early start times and physically active environment, • Strong emphasis on safety, teamwork, and meeting deadlinesJob Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Bloomington, IL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $24.04 - $48.08/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
