Job Description Job Overview The BAS Field Technician II installs, programs, troubleshoots, and maintains building automation and control systems with minimal supervision. This role serves as a technical resource for complex system issues, supports project commissioning, and ensures that automation systems meet operational, safety, and efficiency standards. Essential Duties and Responsibilities • Independently install and commission BAS hardware, software, and networks for commercial/industrial projects., • Program controllers and user interfaces; adjust system logic to optimize performance., • Diagnose and resolve complex issues with sensors, actuators, controllers, and system integrations., • Perform preventive maintenance and system upgrades, ensuring reliability and compliance., • Support system commissioning and functional performance testing for new projects., • Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and subcontractors to meet deadlines and specifications., • Train and mentor Technician I staff in installation and troubleshooting procedures., • Document service activities, system changes, and customer interactions accurately., • Provide on-site technical support and build positive customer relationships., • Associate’s degree or technical certification in HVAC, Electrical, or Controls (or equivalent work experience)., • 3–5 years of BAS or HVAC controls experience, including programming and commissioning., • Proficiency with at least one major BAS platform (e.g., Siemens, Johnson Controls, Honeywell, Trane, Schneider, Delta)., • Strong troubleshooting skills with HVAC equipment and building systems integration., • Working knowledge of control theory, DDC systems, and energy management strategies., • Basic networking skills (IP addressing, routers/switches) preferred., • Effective communication and customer service skills., • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs., • Ability to work in various environments, including confined spaces, attics, crawlspaces, and at heights., • This is a field-based position requiring travel to commercial, institutional, or and industrial buildings., • Health Insurance: Employer covers employee cost; dependents paid by the employee., • Vision and Dental Insurance: Employee-paid., • Basic Life Insurance: Employer-provided coverage up to $50,000., • Health Reimbursement Account (HRA): Company pays a portion of the medical deductible., • 401(k) Plan: 4% employer match after 1 year., • Ancillary Insurance options: disability, critical illness, hospital indemnity, accident and more., • Paid Time Off (PTO): 15 days annually., • Holidays: 9 company-paid holidays., • Bonus: Eligibility for annual bonus., • Learning: Professional development and career growth opportunities.
