This Role Cristo Rey Orlando High School is seeking a School Technology and Systems Specialist who will help build and sustain the technology infrastructure that supports instruction, operations, and school leadership. This is a hands-on role with real ownership across device management, instructional technology, and systems administration. The right person will be as comfortable supporting a teacher in the classroom as they are thinking through how our technology systems need to grow with us. Responsibilities include: Instructional Technology & Faculty Support • Partner with faculty to integrate technology effectively into classroom instruction and support the day-to-day use of digital learning tools, • Serve as the school's primary administrator for the Canvas Learning Management System, including course setup, faculty onboarding, and ongoing support, • Provide training and coaching for faculty and staff on school technology platforms and best practices, • Research and recommend emerging educational technologies aligned with curriculum goals IT Support & Infrastructure • Partner with our managed services provider (MSP) to support day-to-day technology operations, serving as the school's primary internal point of contact for that relationship, • Provide technical support for hardware, software, and network issues across student and staff devices, including Chromebooks, Mac devices, and classroom peripherals, • Manage the Chromebook fleet and macOS devices using Google Admin Console and Apple School Manager, including enrollment, configuration, and updates, • Support web filtering, classroom management software, and acceptable use policy enforcement, • Maintain and monitor technology inventory, device repairs, and service records, • Ensure systems and equipment remain secure, organized, and operational across campus, • Manage and support AV systems across the school, including event sound, projection, and recording/streaming equipment. Systems & Operations • Maintain clear documentation of technology systems, processes, and vendor relationships to support continuity and leadership visibility, • Support the development and implementation of the school's technology plan in alignment with academic and operational priorities, • Manage vendor and partner relationships, including coordination with any managed services providers, • Assist with technology needs during school events, assessments, and special programs Student Engagement • Support and facilitate technology-focused student opportunities including clubs, workshops, and summer enrichment programs that build digital skills and open pathways to technology-related careers, • Participate in and potentially lead lessons for Innovation Friday, a dedicated space for student exploration, creativity, and applied learning, • Support and co-facilitate technology courses, contributing to direct student instruction and ensuring the role remains actively connected to student learning and engagement Other duties and special projects as assigned by the Vice President of Finance and Operations and Assistant Principal, reflecting the shared nature of this role across Operations and Academics. Required Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to satisfactorily perform each essential duty. The requirements below represent knowledge, skills, and/or ability: • Associates degree or technical certification in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field preferred., • Minimum of 23 years of experience providing technical support in a school, business, or technology support environment., • Experience troubleshooting computer hardware, software, and peripheral devices., • Knowledge of Windows, ChromeOS, and commonly used productivity software platforms., • Experience supporting student learning platforms and digital instructional tools., • Strong communication and problem-solving skills with the ability to support non-technical users., • Ability to manage multiple technology support requests and prioritize tasks effectively. Preferred Experience and Skills • Previous experience working in a K12 school technology environment., • Experience supporting Chromebooks and Google Workspace for Education., • Familiarity with Canvas, PowerSchool, and other educational technology platforms., • Experience maintaining technology inventory and asset tracking systems., • Ability to assist teachers with technology integration in the classroom., • Experience supporting student technology programs such as clubs, workshops, or enrichment opportunities., • Strong organizational and documentation skills., • Spanish-speaking ability. Physical Requirements • Physical demands include being required to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, and climb stairs. Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment.
