Job overview The Quality Control Inspector ensures Speedway Motors products meet the quality and performance standards our customers expect. This role inspects CNC-machined or fabricated components to verify they meet engineering drawings, tolerances, and manufacturing specifications before reaching our customers. This position works closely with machinists, fabricators, and production teams toidentifyquality concerns, communicate findings, and help ensure issues are corrected. Successful candidates have strong attention to detail, experience using precision measuring tools, and the ability to clearly communicate quality issues while working collaboratively with the team. Here are the specifics: • Utilize SpeedwayQuality Assurance (QA)Department inspection process toidentifyand document any discrepancies., • Ability to learn andutilizeSpeedway Motors Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP)/Material Requirements Planning (MRP) and Product Data Management systems., • Verify raw materialscomply withSpeedway Engineering Department Standards, including material certifications, and dimensional verification of raw castings/ forgings., • Perform manual measurements using calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and various other inspection tools., • Qualify and direct usage of gaging tools by operators., • Prepare, process, and analyze QA Department inspection reports., • Coordinate with Manufacturing or Warehouse Supervisors and operators to ensure compliance with Speedway QA procedures., • Utilize advanced inspection methods such as the CNC Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM), theMultisensorMeasuring Machine, and 3D Laser Scanners in performance of duties., • Maintain sample inventory., • Maintain regular, reliable, and punctual attendance., • Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and safety protocols., • Take ownership of assigned responsibilities and follow through on commitments., • Embrace and live out Speedway Motors core values., • Adapt to changing priorities anddemonstrateflexibility in a dynamic work setting., • Seek opportunities for continuous improvement and professional growth., • Perform other duties as assigned. Work Schedule This positionworksa 4-day, 10-hour scheduleMonday - Thursday.Flexiblestart times between 6:00 a.m. and 8:00 a.m. based on department needs. From time to time, inspectors may be asked to adjust their schedule or support alternate hours to align with production needs.Advance notice will be provided whenever possible. Work Environment • Ability to stand forlong periodsand perform repetitive tasks with attention to detail., • Must be able to lift, push, pull, or carry materials up to 50 pounds regularly., • Exposure to machinery, noise, and production-related hazards; use of PPErequired., • Workenvironment is fast-paced and may include fluctuating temperatures and airborne particles. What youll need to succeed in this position: • High school diploma or equivalent, plus a minimum of 2 years of experience in a metal fabrication or manufacturing environment, or equivalent hands-on experience with machining, fabrication, or mechanical work., • Must be at least 18 years of age., • Solid understanding of metal fabrication and general manufacturing processes., • Proficient with measuring tools and instruments commonly used in a machining environment., • Strong ability to read and interpret detailed engineering drawings., • Experience with SolidWorks and a working knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)., • Ability toidentifyand apply engineering standards, including verifying proper fixturing, tooling, anddocumentationrevisions., • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills whenidentifyingand addressing quality concerns., • Ability to communicate inspection findings clearly and professionally with machinists, fabricators, and supervisors., • Comfortable addressing quality issues and working collaboratively with production teams to resolve them., • Ability to build positive working relationships across departments whilemaintainingquality standards., • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Excel, Word, and Teams. Preferred Experience: • 2+ years of Quality Control Inspector experience preferred., • Experience in the automotive, racing, or performance parts industry strongly preferred.
