Job Description Injection Molding Maintenance Technician - 2nd or 3rd Shift Location: Warren, MI Department: Maintenance Employment Type: Full-Time Shift: 2nd OR 3rd About the Role We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician to repair, troubleshoot, and maintain a wide range of manufacturing equipment—including injection molding machines, robotics, pneumatics, hydraulics, electrical systems, and facility infrastructure. This role is crucial in ensuring equipment downtime remains at 10% or less, supporting safety, productivity, and continuous improvement across the plant. Key Responsibilities • Repair and maintain all plant machinery, equipment, buildings, and grounds., • Troubleshoot mechanical devices by observing operation and listening for issues., • Disassemble equipment to remove defective components and inspect worn parts., • Adjust, repair, or replace functional components, control instruments, and mechanical assemblies., • Perform lubrication, cleaning, and mechanical adjustments on machines., • Test machinery performance after repairs or adjustments., • Troubleshoot and repair electrical equipment and control systems., • Maintain accurate documentation in compliance with quality procedures., • Conduct plant-wide safety checks and complete preventive maintenance (PMs)., • Complete maintenance request forms and tag equipment upon completion., • Follow OSHA and ANSI safety standards and procedures., • Submit requisitions for parts and materials with proper authorization., • Provide own basic tools for daily maintenance tasks., • Respond promptly to maintenance needs and perform timely repairs. Required Experience & Qualifications • 3–5 years of experience in troubleshooting plastic injection molding and secondary equipment., • Ability to multitask and work safely in a fast-paced manufacturing environment., • Ability to read and execute tasks from work instructions., • Experience with robotics, programmable controls (including troubleshooting and program modification) highly preferred., • Industrial electrical troubleshooting experience., • Familiarity with hydraulics, pneumatics, electronics, HVAC, and plant machinery., • Ability to read mechanical and electrical drawings (preferred)., • EOAT (End of Arm Tooling) design/fabrication experience a plus., • Proficiency in valve gate design/installation strongly preferred., • Forklift (sit-down/stand-up) and scissor lift experience; willingness to obtain certification., • Willingness to pursue continuous training and skill development. Physical Requirements & Work Environment • Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 lbs., • Frequent bending, stooping, twisting, standing, and repetitive movements for 8–12 hours., • Ability to reach above shoulder level and perform fine motor tasks., • Comfortable ascending/descending stairs, ladders, forklifts, and lifts., • Ability to work at heights and in proximity to moving mechanical parts., • Exposure to moderate to loud noise levels, fumes, vibration, and potential electrical hazards., • Requires close vision and color identification., • Ability to work independently with limited supervision., • Ability to remain stationary for extended periods.
