Job Description Job Title: Maintenance Technician Department: Facilities Status: Full-Time Nonexempt Experience: Candidates with 3-10 years of facilities maintenance experience will be considered; 5-10 years is strongly preferred. Location: Campus Support Center (CSC) with regular travel to six DFW campus locations Hours: Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM–4:30 PM, flexible if earlier or later shift is desired. The workday will generally begin and end at the Campus Support Center (CSC). Because this role supports six campuses across the DFW area, daily scheduling may vary based on work order priorities, travel time, and campus needs. Occasional evenings or weekends may be required for urgent repairs or special projects. Compensation Type: $30.00 - $35.00/hour Job Summary The Maintenance Technician provides essential maintenance support for the Campus Support Center and six DFW campuses. The primary purpose of this role is to ensure all learning and operational spaces remain safe, functional, and well-maintained at all times. This role plays a critical part in creating clean, welcoming, and fully operational environments that support student success and daily campus operations. The technician is responsible for completing daily work orders, performing routine inspections, maintaining building systems, and delivering excellent service to campus staff. This position requires strong technical skills, professionalism, and reliability. A Day in the Life • Performs basic and routine facilities maintenance, construction, and repair tasks according to service, quality, and safety standards., • Following standard operating procedures, assembles, installs, inspects, repairs, and performs preventive maintenance on mechanical, electrical, plumbing, lighting, HVAC (non-licensed tasks), safety, and waste management systems., • Complete assigned work orders across DFW campuses in a timely and professional manner., • Conduct routine facility inspections and identify maintenance needs or safety concerns., • Maintain mechanical systems, equipment, and common areas to ensure safe and appealing conditions., • Assists with facility projects including painting, drywall repair, minor carpentry, installation of fixtures, and moving furniture or materials as needed., • Interact respectfully and professionally with all staff, students, and visitors., • Communicate clearly about repair needs, timelines, and progress., • Utilize the work order system to document completed tasks, update progress, and maintain accurate service records., • Maintain accurate records of inspections, preventive maintenance tasks, and time accountability., • Safely operate tools, equipment, and materials according to manufacturer’s procedures., • Maintain inventory of supplies and notify leadership when replenishment is required., • Works with or coordinates approved trades contractors to complete specialized projects or complex repairs., • Follow OSHA, fire safety, and campus safety procedures and report hazards immediately., • Travel regularly between campuses and assist with special projects or urgent repairs as assigned by the CFO. Operating Skills, Knowledge & Abilities • High School diploma or equivalent required., • Candidates with 3-10 years of related facilities maintenance experience will be considered; 5-10 years is strongly preferred., • Strong customer service, communication, time management, and interpersonal skills., • Ability to work independently while managing priorities across multiple campuses., • Ability to respond promptly to urgent maintenance needs., • Ability to work occasional extended hours or weekends based on project requirements., • Must consistently demonstrate Teamwork, Integrity, Respect, Excellence, and Service to the Customer. Physical Requirements • Frequent standing and walking., • Frequent bending, stooping, squatting, and kneeling., • Climbing stairs and ladders., • Reaching above shoulders to complete repairs., • Gripping, lifting, pushing, and pulling tools, supplies, and equipment., • Carrying items 1–25 lbs. constantly, 25–75 lbs. regularly, and up to 150 lbs. occasionally.
