According to the Great Place to Work® 2025–2026 survey: • 96% feel good about how we support the community, • 94% are proud to tell others they work at the USO, • 92% say their work has special meaning—it’s not “just a job”, • 91% felt welcomed from day one Principal Duties and Responsibilities (*Essential Duties) • As directed by leadership, research and respond to inquiries by external existing and prospective stakeholders interested in planning, coordination, implementation and management of assigned programs. Identify trends, perform needs assessments, and make recommendations to modify and/or enhance program delivery based on results.*, • Field telephone calls and reply to emails related to assigned programs. Provide information about assigned programs/projects to Field Operations staff, military leadership and program partners as applicable.*, • Prepare, track and organize program-related correspondence and reports including inquiries, templates, thank you notes and rejection letters.*, • Support program/event management process for assigned programs and projects, including but not limited to receiving program requests, tracking program participant information, coordinating and developing financial reports, inventory tracking, event logistics, coordinating fulfillment of orders for program materials, products and services, and collection of program evaluations and metrics, and development and coordination of grant and partner compliance reports.*, • Compile program and service costs., • Bachelor’s Degree in business or related field., • 1-3 years work experience in a program support role. Relevant experience in a not-for-profit, military, multicultural and/or global organization preferred., • Willingness to perform work in a non-traditional work environment (i.e. warehouse)., • Strong interpersonal, customer service and problem-solving skills. Ability to interact with USO Leadership, the general public and military audiences at a variety of levels with integrity and professionalism. Ability to manage and influence external vendor relationships., • Proficiency using computers and electronics equipment. General knowledge of various software, applications, and programs including but not limited to event registration and customer relationship management software, as well as Microsoft Office Suite. Proficiency with Cvent and/or Salesforce preferred., • Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgment related to controversial and/or culturally sensitive subjects. Ability to handle confidential information with tact and poise., • Must show initiative, self-motivation, and attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple projects with competing priorities. Ability to quickly and easily adapt to changing organizational needs., • Ability to achieve desired results while working collaboratively in a team environment., • Ability to perform basic math and follow proper cash/donation handling and reporting procedures., • Ability to obtain and maintain proper credentials necessary to access USO Center locations and facilities including but not limited to security, credit and/or background screening, SOFA status, valid driver’s license., • This position is located in Arlington, VA.
