Job Description FORENSIC CERTIFIED PEER SPECIALIST SUPERVISOR LOCATION: PITTSBURGH, PA POSITION SUMMARY: The RHD Forensic Certified Peer Specialist Program (FCPS) provides peer support services for adults with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders and who may also be involved with the criminal justice system. RHD FCPS team members will assist participants to acquire and maintain the skills they need to successfully live and thrive in the community independently using skills-based and strength-based techniques. Services offered include, development of and coaching on recovery or wellness plans, individual advocacy, education, development of natural supports, support of work or other meaningful activity of the individual’s choosing, crisis management support, skills training, effective utilization of the service delivery system, and coordination of and linkage to other service providers. The position is responsible for upholding RHD values, adheres to the standards of DDAP, MH/OP, Magellan, Medicare, and any other funding or licensing bodies. The peer support supervisor oversees both community and career certified peer specialists in order to ensure that services are being provided according to state, county, and program specific regulations, guidelines, and policies. The peer support supervisor assures that the delivery of peer support services are robust and recovery and resiliency oriented. The peer support supervisor assesses the quality of services being delivered and develop change strategies as needed. Major Responsibilities Ensure that all practices align with CCBHC standards. Hiring and supervising all new CPSs, including new hire paperwork and training. Engaging with, managing, screening and tracking all referrals on the team. Provide quality assurance through auditing of charts including monitoring Recovery Plans, Consents and releases of information, Progress Notes, etc. Approving and processing all progress notes in Avatar by providing careful review of service delivery and billing accuracy. Utilizing various reports to reflect and monitor any necessary information and measure program outcomes, such as tracking services provided to participants, open cases, termination of cases, productivity, and compliance. Coordinating clinical aspects of team supervision and consultation and provide weekly individual supervision. Coordinating continuing education trainings for employees. Participating and engaging in leadership and clinical meetings to ensure coordination of care between CPSs, therapists, psychiatrists and recovery coaches. Developing and implementing peer social groups with participants. Managing billing and vehicle use. Maintain employee productivity and engagement through individual, group, and field supervision. Model engagement skills and foster positive relationships. Attend county meetings in order to stay current with current trends, opportunities, and barriers while positively representing RHD. Collaborate and coordinate with county representatives as well as other providers in order to promote RHD and maintain positive affiliations and linkages. Promote and ensure that career services practices and values are being delivered appropriately and consistently. Mentor all CPS staff in the areas of professionalism, crisis management, effective communication, and professional growth. Assist the agency with creating and maintaining a welcoming environment for both participants and employees. Attending any needed trainings in support of current or future programming. Facilitate staff and team meetings. Promote and facilitate continuing alignment of the program. Participate in marketing and positive community interactions as needed. Job Qualifications Strong knowledge of recovery principles and peer support practices and values. CPS Supervisor Certification (to be completed within 6 months of hire). FBI, child abuse and Police background checks. Valid driver’s license Access to a car ACT 33/34 clearances All trainings required by licensure Education and Experience: A bachelor’s degree in sociology, social work, psychology, counseling, education, gerontology, anthropology, history, criminal justice, or comparable experience 3 years mental health direct care experience, Two years of supervisory experience.
