Job Description Job Title: Machinist Job Description The Machinist is responsible for machining new and repair part products according to print specifications. The role primarily involves operating a Toshiba Vertical Turning Lathe (VTL) with Fanuc controls, which features live tooling. The machinist will work on large control flow valves ranging from 40-160 inches in outer diameter and weighing between 1,000 to 10,000 pounds. Duties include setting up the machine, operating it, making necessary edits, and machining parts to a precision of +-.001. The machinist will handle various materials, including carbon steel, stainless steel, Inconel, and Stellite. Responsibilities • Operate and set up Toshiba VTL with Fanuc controls., • Handle live tooling for machining large control flow valves., • Machine parts with precision down to +-.001., • Work with materials such as carbon steel, stainless, Inconel, and Stellite., • Perform setups and edits as needed., • 5+ years of experience as a VTL machinist., • 2+ years of mill experience., • Proficiency in Fanuc controls., • Experience in performing setups and edits., • Experience with live tooling is a plus., • Familiarity with various control systems such as Mazatrol and Tosnuc., • Knowledge of G code programming, including G01, G17, G81, G90, and more., • Ability to calculate speeds and feeds for milling and drilling. There are two shifts available: a night shift from 6 pm to 6 am, Monday through Saturday, and a day shift from 6 am to 6 pm, with a schedule of 13 days on and 1 day off.
