Job DescriptionJob Title: MIG WelderJob Description We are seeking a skilled MIG Welder to cut, trim, fit, and fabricate metal components for building and assembling projects. You will collaborate with the lead welder, analyze engineering drawings, and ensure efficient and effective work processes. Your role involves welding assembly and fabrication of various structures, modifying and installing launch vehicles, and handling hazardous materials safely. Responsibilities • Perform MIG welding tasks, including cutting, trimming, fitting, and fabricating metal components., • Collaborate with the lead welder to assess proper weld procedures and materials., • Analyze engineering drawings and specifications to plan welding operations., • Strive to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, and streamline work processes., • Communicate effectively with management, engineering staff, and planners., • Modify, repair, assemble, and install launch vehicles., • Check completed work against drawings to ensure accuracy., • Handle and dispose of hazardous materials safely., • Install and assemble custom and off-the-shelf tooling and machinery., • Set up safety equipment and work platforms at elevation., • Operate general shop equipment and vehicles, including forklifts and lifts.Essential Skills, • 10+ years of experience with MIG welding on stainless steel, carbon steel, Inconel, aluminum, and titanium., • Highly proficient in tube cutting, grinding, and fabrication., • Experience in Class A welds., • Certifications with AWS and D1.2., • Experience with DC welding techniques and engineering requirements., • Knowledge in occupational hazards and effective safety precautions., • Experience operating overhead cranes and forklifts., • Proficiency in using precision measuring instruments.Additional Skills & Qualifications, • Pass a weld test per AWS standards., • Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 25 lbs) unassisted., • Capability to work in various physical positions and environments., • Experience working in extreme outdoor conditions and confined spaces.
