Job DescriptionAt Bumble Roofing of Greater Western Chicago, IL we believe roofing should be simple, transparent, and stress-free. Our promise: Roofing, the Easy Way. We are launching a new franchise location and are seeking a hands-on General Manager to build and lead the business locally. This is a launch-phase leadership role for a confident roofing or construction professional who can balance operations, sales leadership, and team development while establishing strong processes for long-term growth. Role OverviewDuring the initial launch phase (approximately the first 3–6 months), the General Manager will support sales as needed alongside the sales consultant. This role is not meant to carry a long-term sales quota. Over time, the focus shifts to sales leadership, operations, and business management. This is a hands-on role during the startup phase, ideal for candidates who thrive in building processes and teams from the ground up. Compensation & Benefits • Base salary: $70,000–$90,000 (W-2), • Additional compensation:, • Sales commissions on personally closed jobs during the launch phase, • Quarterly performance-based bonuses tied to revenue, margins, and customer satisfaction, • 401(k), • Flexible Schedule, • Company vehicle or mileage reimbursement, • Training and development, • Employee Discounts, • Paid time off, • Health expense reimbursement (up to a set amount), • Opportunity for increased base compensation and long-term incentives as the business growsWhat We’re Looking For, • 5+ years of experience in roofing, construction, or related home services, • Proven ability to drive sales and manage projects in roofing, construction, or home improvement services, • Strong understanding of job costing, margins, and production flow, • Demonstrated leadership and accountability for results, • Comfortable working in the field, including climbing roofs, • Strong organizational, communication, and customer service skills, • Tech-savvy with CRM, estimating, and project management tools, • Valid driver’s license; ability to lift up to 50 lbs, • Support early sales activity and select inspections as needed, • Partner with and coach the sales representative, • Monitor lead flow, pipeline, and conversion, • Assist on select projects requiring experience or guidance, • Ensure smooth handoff from sales to production and customer experienceOperations & Production Management, • Oversee projects from contract to completion, • Coordinate permitting, scheduling, materials, inspections, and compliance, • Manage subcontractors, enforce safety, and ensure quality, • Conduct job site checks and final walkthroughs, • Track job costs, margins, and timelinesTeam & Customer Management, • Lead day-to-day operations, • Build relationships with crews, vendors, and the sales representative, • Train and coach team members on standards and processes, • Serve as primary contact post-sale, resolve issues, and drive customer reviews, • Support marketing, social media, and community engagementPerformance & Reporting, • Maintain accurate documentation and CRM updates, • Track and report KPIs including revenue, gross margin, job cycle time, rework rates, and customer satisfaction, • Partner with leadership on performance reporting and continuous improvementSafety & Compliance, • Enforce OSHA and company safety policies, • Maintain incident reports and ensure crews follow safe practiceWork Location: Will County and DuPage County
