Job Description LOD Staffing has openings for Diesel Mechanic – Heavy Equipment. Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Diesel Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining heavy-duty diesel powered machines such as loaders, bulldozers, excavators, forklifts, and other construction or industrial machinery or vehicles. This role requires strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety and quality workmanship. Essential Duties and Responsibilities • Diagnose and repair diesel engines, hydraulic systems, transmissions, electrical systems, and brake systems on heavy equipment., • Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, and scheduled servicing on machinery., • Troubleshoot mechanical and electronic malfunctions using diagnostic tools and manuals., • Maintain accurate maintenance and repair records., • Operate equipment to test functionality and ensure repairs meet operational standards., • Adhere to all safety regulations, procedures, and company policies., • Maintain cleanliness and organization in the work area., • Communicate effectively with supervisors, operators, and team members regarding equipment status and needs. Minimum Qualifications • Minimum 3 years of experience as a diesel mechanic, preferably with heavy equipment., • Proficiency with diesel engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems., • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics., • Must possess a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation., • Basic computer skills for inputting work orders and maintenance records. Preferred Qualifications • ASE Certification or equivalent vocational/technical training., • Experience with specific brands (e.g., Caterpillar, John Deere, Komatsu, Case, or Volvo equipment)., • Welding and fabrication experience a plus. Work Environment • Work performed in shop and outdoor environments, exposure to varying weather conditions, noise, dust, and heavy machinery., • May require working extended hours, weekends, or on-call shifts depending on operational needs., • Safety equipment and PPE must be worn at all times. Physical and Mental Requirements • Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs and perform physically demanding tasks such as climbing, bending, kneeling, and standing for extended periods., • Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination required for handling tools and equipment., • Ability to remain alert, focused, and safety-conscious in a fast-paced, high-risk environment., • Strong problem-solving and diagnostic skills., • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Company DescriptionLabor On Demand, Inc. d.b.a.
