Job DescriptionJob Title: LandscaperJob Description As a landscaper, you will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of the grounds and outside fixtures, operating a variety of mechanical equipment and hand tools, and mixing and using chemicals. This role involves cutting lawns, trimming, and edging around walkways, roads, flower beds, and walls, as well as pruning shrubs, trees, and plants. You will also be tasked with raking leaves, performing periodic inspections of plants and grasses, and making routine recommendations for changes in care schedules. Responsibilities • Operate a variety of mechanical equipment and hand tools., • Mix and use chemicals, including hazardous materials subject to special handling requirements., • Perform tasks such as cutting lawns, trimming, and edging around walkways, roads, flower beds, and walls., • Prune shrubs, trees, and plants., • Rake leaves and litter., • Conduct periodic inspections of plants and grasses., • Make routine recommendations for changes in care schedules., • Assist in determining the timetable for fertilizer and disease/pest control programs., • Assemble, install, modify, and maintain irrigation systems and plumbing under general direction., • Perform trade work such as carpentry or painting., • Assist in planning and designing changes or modifications to landscape., • Operate tractors or other equipment with attachments such as mowers, fertilizer spreaders, rototillers, sod removers, backhoes, and lawn rollers., • Ensure compliance with all laws, regulations, and obligations when conducting business on behalf of the company., • Work safely in accordance with established operating procedures and practices., • Complete knowledge and understanding of safe lifting procedures., • Ability to work outside often during inclement weather under limited supervision., • Physical stamina to complete tasks., • Independent judgment in solving basic problems and making routine recommendations., • Experience with general labor, groundskeeping, tree trimming, and pest control. Work Environment You will work across a large commercial site consisting of around 30 buildings, often outdoors and during inclement weather. The role requires adherence to safety protocols and offers opportunities to work with a variety of equipment. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of San Diego, California. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $25.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
