SUMMARY: The Coordinator of Youth and High School Football support the implementation and execution of all youth football programming. This person will be responsible for growing the game of football at the youth level and upholding the overall department’s goals and objectives. The ideal candidate will be ready to adapt to the evolving nature of the National Football League while becoming an effective team player within the Vikings Youth & High School Football Department. This work will be performed in partnership and collaboration with the other Youth & High School Football Coordinator. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO: • Support several key high school football initiatives (Coach of the Week & Year, All-State Team, All-Star Games, Vikings Prep Spotlight, Tackle Cancer, Nike 11-ON, Prep Bowl etc.)., • Contribute to youth and high school football officiating initiatives (Officiating Crew of the Month & Year, recruiting and retention efforts, officials’ clinics, and other awards & recognition programs with the MSHSL), • Coordinate Youth and High School Football Training Camp initiatives (high school teams of the day, youth clinics, stakeholder or partner activations, community groups etc.)., • Assist in the planning and execution of Vikings Youth Football Camps & Clinics, • Lead the execution of Vikings Flag experiential benefits program, such as cheer and mascot appearances, promotional activations, exclusive tournaments & clinics, ticket and autograph memorabilia giveaways and more., • Support the strategic growth and development of girls’ & women’s flag football at the middle school, high school and collegiate level. Core functions will include coach & school communications, resource distribution, leading committee meetings and more., • Lead girls flag football education and recognition programming (Coach of the Week, athlete awards, coaching & officiating clinics, and other educational resources)., • Fulfill youth football components of key corporate partner relationships, including event execution, brand integration, game ticket distribution, social/digital recognition, signage, etc., • Develop and maintain relationships with key Youth & High School football stakeholders (NFL League Office, Reigning Champs, Nike, USA Football, MFCA, MSHSL, Let’s Play Football Publication, Park & Rec Boards, athletic directors, youth & high school football leagues and coaches, etc.)., • Support the planning and execution of international football development programs, • Maintain the youth and high school football website pages on Vikings.com (updates, edits recaps, photos etc.), • Apply for select NFL Foundation Grants (Coach of the Week, Don Shula Coach of the Year, Athletic Training Grant and more), • Assist in content creation for the Vikings in the Community Instagram page., • Maintain the youth football email account and miscellaneous inbound requests (donation items, giveaways, tour and experiences), • Oversee game day groups and experiences (Play Football Game initiative, Mascot game, department season ticket management, etc.), • Contribute to annual budgeting and strategic planning processes for youth football initiatives., • Represent Youth Football on select internal and external committees (examples include Training Camp committee, events committee, Youth Advisory Board, High School Advisory Board, YMCA of the North etc.), • Contribute to annual department reporting and recap documents., • Support the Social Impact Department and the Vikings organization on large-scale events (Legends Homecoming Weekend, Draft Party & Garage Sale, select Community Tuesdays, etc.). QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: • Experience coordinating and executing youth focused programs, • Interest in and commitment to supporting youth and high school football, with openness to learning and growth in the sport., • Degree in marketing, sports management, youth development, closely related field, or equivalent experience, • Ability to collaborate and work effectively as part of a team., • Strong commitment to the Vikings Values, and proven ability to work effectively within diverse communities., • Strong communication, organizational and logistical skills, • Excellent interpersonal skills with a proven track record to build trust and rapport quickly., • Must possess a high level of integrity and a demonstrated ability to deal effectively with confidential information., • Degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience preferred., • Must have a valid driver’s license, • Ability to safely operate company vehicles over extended periods of time and long distances, • Ability to travel regionally and internationally and work non-traditional hours PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: • Prior knowledge of the sport of football or previous work experience in the field., • Experience with event management and facilitation of sports camps and competitions, • Familiarity with data capture and management along with use of project management systems, • Comfortability with public speaking and presenting to various internal and external stakeholder groups CONFIDENTIALITY REQUIREMENTS: This position requires the individual to have access to confidential records and information.
