JOB DESCRIPTION JOB TITLE: INSTRUMENTATION/ELECTRICAL ENGINEER DEPARTMENT: ENGINEERING REPORTS TO: ENGINEERNG MANAGER (TECH) EXEMPT/NON-EXEMPT: EXEMPT MANAGERIAL (Y/N): N # Direct reports: 0 Total:_____________ BUDGET AUTHORITY: Total Budget Amt: Authorization Amt: OVERALL RESPONSIBILITIES Perform electrical and instrument engineering work in new and existing facilities in the dynamic environment of a chemical storage terminal. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS • Perform engineering, prepare specifications, and design and check drawings of electrical and instrumentation work performed at OTH and by outside engineering consultants., • Issue RFQ’s, evaluate proposals, and manage the engineering, purchasing, and construction of electrical and instrumentation work., • Prepare, update, and maintain the electrical and instrumentation specifications., • Inspect, review, and administer work performed by electrical and instrument contractors for performance, quality, operability, and cost., • Review, audit, and provide feedback on the electrical and instrumentation contractors’ safety practices at Odfjell., • Perform cost estimates and preliminary engineering for proposed projects., • Assist maintenance department technicians in their electrical and instrumentation troubleshooting, specifications, and design., • In case of absence, the employee’s supervisor will assume and/or assign responsibility for this position’s duties., • B.S. degree in electrical, control systems, or related engineering field., • Prefer 5 or more years of experience with industrial electrical and power systems (12kV and 480/120V, Transformer, MCC, Breakers, Motors, etc.), instrumentation (Control Valves, Transmitters, Gauges, etc.), and automation systems (PLC, HMI, Servers, and various networking i.e. Ethernet, Modbus, etc.)., • Experience in specifying, installing, and calibrating instrumentation related to chemical terminals or chemical plant., • Experience with the design, specification and installation of SCADA and PLC systems., • Knowledge of ISA Standards and NEC. Occasionally: Climb stairs to top of tanks, crawling, climbing, reaching overhead, crouching, kneeling, balancing, pushing or pulling, grasping, repetitive use of legs, lifting or carrying 10-25 pounds. Frequently: Sitting, standing, walking, walking in or out of turnstile, be able to evacuate in an emergency, bending over, repetitive use of hands/arms, fine manipulation, making decisions, discriminating colors. Continuously: Eye/hand coordination, talking, hearing, touching, smelling, seeing, keyboard/typing, maintaining stamina during workday, thinking analytically; understanding, assimilating and drawing conclusions from information and data; producing unique or creative solutions to problems; receiving and transmitting information accurately using oral and written communications; concentrating on tasks, remembering details, adjusting to changes, examining/observing details, maintaining attention span during workday; using math/calculations, using English language correctly.
