Job Description MPF Federal is seeking a qualified Registered Nurse (RN) – Labor & Delivery to provide intrapartum coverage services at Naval Medical Center Portsmouth. This position is designated as mission essential and requires onsite clinical support during scheduled shifts, including federally recognized holidays. Compensation is pursuant to the Service Contract Act (SCA). The RN Labor & Delivery will provide comprehensive inpatient intrapartum nursing care in accordance with established nursing standards, hospital policies, AWHONN guidelines, and evidence-based obstetric practices. Work Schedule & Hours Scheduling: Varied shifts Sunday through Saturday Typical Shift Times Include: • 0645–1915, • 1845–0715, • 0645–1515, • 1845–0315, • 1045–1915 Schedules for required shifts will be provided to the Contractor twelve (12) weeks in advance. Final schedules must be submitted to the Matrix Program Manager (PM) eight (8) weeks prior to services being required. Schedule changes must be submitted seventy-two (72) hours in advance. The Government may waive the 72-hour notification requirement on a case-by-case basis for unforeseen circumstances such as illness or injury. Shift coverage is required during schedule changes to prevent gaps in services. A substitute contract worker is not required unless the permanent contract worker is absent for more than three (3) calendar days. Mission Essential & Work Authorization This labor category is designated as mission essential. The contract worker must be a United States Citizen and must be available to provide services during scheduled shifts, including holidays. In the event of unplanned facility closures due to natural disaster, military emergency, severe weather, pandemic, or Government-directed closure (outside of planned closures), the contract worker will be compensated for personal services during the closure.
