You will report to the Plasma Center Manager and function as a Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) to facilitate the operations of the plasma center. Our Plasma Services is a subsidiary of a leading pharmaceutical company. Role Responsibilities: Daily interactions with donors will motivate you. The plasma you collect will contribute to life-altering medicines. A dedication to customer service and quality is paramount. Your responsibilities will include assessing donor eligibility for plasma donation, managing donor adverse events, reviewing laboratory test results, and notifying donors of any unsuitable test outcomes. The Medical Support Specialist will operate under the direction of the Center Manager (or Assistant Manager) for operational matters and under the supervision of the Center Physician for medical concerns. Familiarity with plasma collection industry regulations or a manufacturing environment is expected. You will adhere to guidance from our Medical Affairs team and provide support for environmental, health, and safety (EHS) initiatives at the center. Your Contributions: • Assess donor eligibility, including informed consent management, AIDS education, confidential self-exclusion, medical history interviews, physical examinations, blood testing, and reviewing Serological Protein Electrophoresis (SPE)., • Evaluate donor reactions occurring at the facility, following standard operating procedures (SOPs) for medical emergencies, including the development of standing orders from the Center Physician and arranging transport to emergency care facilities., • Consult with the Center Physician or Medical Affairs when addressing unacceptable findings with donors or seeking guidance on medical or technical issues, including donor safety and eligibility., • Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees as needed., • Manage employee incidents and determine if further evaluation by occupational health or emergency services is necessary, referring to EHS guidelines regarding employee incidents., • High school diploma or equivalent, including completion of a recognized educational nursing program that meets state requirements., • Current licensure or certification in the state where you will be working: Registered Nurse (RN), Nurse Practitioner (NP), or Physician Assistant (PA)., • Current certification in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and AED., • Meet state requirements for basic IV therapy in the state of licensure., • Successfully complete the FDA-approved training requirements for the Medical Support Specialist role. Location: USA - IN - Indianapolis Hourly Wage Range: $23.85 - $32.79 The estimated hourly wage range reflects the anticipated compensation for this position. The actual wage offered may vary based on several factors, including the applicant's qualifications, relevant experience, specific skills, educational background, certifications, and the location of the applicant. The final wage will comply with state or local minimum wage laws applicable to the job location.
