Job DescriptionJob Title: Inventory Clerk / Shipping OperatorJob Description This role combines inventory coordination and shipping operations in a clean, modern printing facility. You will manage inventory using ERP systems, operate reach truck forklifts and dock equipment, handle pallet wrapping and strapping, and perform computer-based shipping and receiving tasks. The position involves both physical material handling and detailed administrative work, requiring strong attention to detail, solid computer skills, and comfort working in a fast-paced warehouse and production environment. Responsibilities • Perform daily inventory control activities, including cycle counts, inventory reconciliation, and inventory management using ERP/MRP systems (Epicor preferred)., • Operate reach truck forklifts and other material handling equipment safely to move, stage, and store materials and finished goods., • Manually lift rolls and materials up to 60 pounds several times per day and move heavy pallets using pallet jacks (manual and power)., • Wrap and strap pallets using both manual methods and a mechanical semi-automatic stretch wrapper to prepare loads for shipment., • Work on the dock to receive and deliver freight to the warehouse, ensuring accurate inspection and documentation of incoming materials., • Inspect incoming material for accuracy, quality, and damage, and report discrepancies or issues promptly., • Enter Bills of Lading and freight costs into the MRP/ERP system accurately and in a timely manner., • Use computer-based shipping software (UPS/FedEx and similar systems) to prepare shipping labels, documentation, and tracking information., • Maintain accurate shipping and receiving records and ensure inventory transactions are entered correctly into the system., • Utilize MS Office applications (Word, Outlook) for communication, documentation, and basic reporting related to inventory and shipping activities., • Operate dock equipment, including pallet jacks and strapping tools (steel and plastic), following safety procedures and best practices., • Collaborate with production and warehouse teams to ensure materials are available when needed and shipments are processed on schedule., • Apply attention to detail in a printing production environment, verifying correct materials, quantities, and labels., • Work both standing and sitting as required by tasks, maintaining productivity and safety throughout the shift., • Support lean manufacturing and continuous improvement efforts by sharing ideas to improve processes, efficiency, and safety.Essential Skills, • At least 1 year of experience operating a reach truck forklift in a warehouse or production environment., • Minimum 3 years of experience using computer software in shipping (such as UPS/FedEx systems) and inventory/ERP systems (Epicor preferred)., • Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems for inventory control, data entry, and freight cost tracking (Epicor strongly preferred)., • Strong inventory control skills, including cycle counts, inventory reconciliation, and basic inventory management practices., • Demonstrated experience with pallet wrapping and material handling in a warehouse or dock setting., • Ability to safely lift up to 60 pounds multiple times per day, with proper use of lifting aids and hoists when needed., • Comfort working both standing and sitting for extended periods, depending on task requirements., • Proficiency in MS Office, specifically Word and Outlook, for communication and documentation., • Experience using dock equipment, including manual and power pallet jacks., • Knowledge and hands-on experience with steel and plastic strapping tools for securing palletized loads., • High level of attention to detail, particularly in a production or printing environment where accuracy is critical., • High school diploma or equivalent.Additional Skills & Qualifications, • Experience in the printing industry or a similar production environment, with an eye for detail in handling printed materials., • Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and willingness to contribute ideas for process improvements., • Comfort working with mechanical (semi-automatic) stretch wrappers and other automated material handling equipment., • Strong general computer skills beyond shipping and ERP systems, including basic data entry and record keeping., • Effective communication skills for coordinating with warehouse, production, and office teams., • Reliability and strong work ethic, with the ability to work independently without constant supervision., • Willingness to learn new systems, tools, and processes through on-the-job training and development programs.Why Work Here? Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Saint Paul, MN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
