Position Summary The Blend Plant Supervisor is responsible for the overall operation of JAN Resources' chemical blending facility, including production planning, personnel supervision, quality control, inventory management, safety compliance, and customer fulfillment. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring direct accountability for plant performance, team development, and regulatory adherence in a safety-sensitive, field-facing environment. Must be local to Midland/Odessa area. Key ResponsibilitiesOperations & Production • Oversee all blending, batching, and chemical transfer operations to ensure product quality and on-time fulfillment, • Develop and manage daily and weekly production schedules aligned with customer demand and inventory levels, • Review and approve batch records, production logs, and quality documentation, • Coordinate with the sales and operations team to prioritize orders and manage capacity, • Ensure finished products are properly packaged, labeled, and staged for delivery, • Monitor temperatures, measurements, and process parameters to maintain product consistencySafety & Regulatory Compliance, • Lead the plant's safety culture and enforce compliance with OSHA, EPA, DOT, and company safety standards, including PSM requirements where applicable, • Conduct or oversee daily safety inspections, equipment checks, and secondary containment reviews, • Ensure proper handling, labeling, and storage of flammable, combustible, and hazardous materials in accordance with all applicable regulations, • Maintain current SDS/MSDS documentation and ensure accessibility for all plant personnel, • Investigate and document incidents, near misses, and spills promptly and thoroughly per company and regulatory requirements, • Enforce PPE requirements and ensure all personnel complete required safety trainingPersonnel Management, • Directly supervise Blend Plant Technicians, including scheduling, training, performance management, and corrective action as needed, • Partner with HR on documentation, disciplinary matters, onboarding, and workforce planning, • Conduct regular performance conversations and provide coaching and development support to plant staff, • Set clear expectations, hold the team accountable, and foster a work environment built on safety, accountability, and operational excellenceInventory & Vendor Management, • Monitor raw material inventory levels and coordinate timely reorders to prevent production disruptions, • Build and maintain working relationships with chemical suppliers, delivery vendors, and logistics partners, • Reconcile inventory against production records on a regular basis and report discrepancies, • Identify cost-saving opportunities in purchasing, storage, and waste reduction without compromising qualityEquipment & Facility, • Ensure all blending equipment, tanks, pumps, meters, and transfer systems are properly maintained and operational, • Coordinate with maintenance personnel or outside contractors for repairs and scheduled preventive maintenance, • Maintain facility housekeeping standards and oversee waste disposal in compliance with environmental requirements, • Track equipment issues and escalate capital repair or replacement needs to operations leadershipQualifications, • 5+ years of experience in chemical blending, bulk liquid operations, or oilfield chemical services, • 2+ years of supervisory or lead experience in a production or plant environment, • Working knowledge of flammable and combustible liquid handling, containment procedures, and OSHA regulations, • Familiarity with PSM (Process Safety Management) programs preferred, • Ability to read and interpret SDS sheets, blend specifications, batch records, and production documentation, • Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail, • Effective communicator with the ability to work cross-functionally with operations, sales, and leadership, • Forklift certification required or ability to obtain, • Basic computer proficiency for documentation and reporting, • High school diploma or GED required; technical certifications or additional education a plus, • Must pass pre-employment drug screening and background check with acceptable MVRPhysical Requirements, • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather and temperature conditions, • Ability to lift up to 60 lbs and handle 55-gallon drums, • Must be able to stand, walk, bend, squat, and perform physical tasks for extended periods, • Comfortable working around industrial chemicals, bulk tanks, and heavy equipment, • Ability to climb tanks, vessels, or elevated structures as neededWork Environment This is an on-site, facility-based position. The Blend Plant Supervisor is expected to maintain regular presence during operational hours and be available for off-hours situations as required by production demand. Schedule flexibility including nights, weekends, and emergency response may be required.
