Job description: Condition Based Monitoring Technician Location: Aberdeen | Travel: ~10% (onshore/offshore, when offshore £75 extra per day + 4 hours overtime.) Hours: Onshore Monday–Friday and 10% travel Offshore usually over a weekend. Hybrid: 4 days in the office, 1 day a week working from home. We’re looking for a Condition Based Monitoring Technician to join a dynamic team in Aberdeen, delivering actionable insights from machinery data and helping clients optimise their operations. The primary focus of this role is analysing vibration data to provide insights and recommendations that support the company’s contracts and ensure optimal equipment performance In this role, you’ll take the lead on technical analysis, generating high-quality reports, and providing practical recommendations. You’ll work closely with clients both remotely and on-site, including offshore visits, helping troubleshoot complex machinery issues such as balancing and orbit analysis. As a confident team player who can also work independently, you’ll mentor clients on condition monitoring best practices and clearly demonstrate the value of your recommendations. What You’ll Do • Analyse machinery data using vibration and other condition monitoring techniques., • Produce detailed, actionable reports with corrective recommendations., • Peer review technical documents to ensure consistency and high quality., • Collaborate with the team to meet service agreements and contract requirements., • Conduct on-site inspections, testing, and troubleshooting (including offshore)., • Perform specialist diagnostics, including balancing and orbit analysis., • Mentor clients in basic condition monitoring practices., • Continuously improve condition monitoring programs., • Represent the company professionally at customer sites., • Engineering degree or equivalent experience., • Experience in vibration analysis for rotating equipment (pumps, compressors)., • Vibration Analysis ISO 18436-2 Category 2., • Lubrication Analysis ISO 18436-4 Category 2 (or equivalent)., • Vibration Analysis ISO 18436-2 Category 3., • Experience with client CMMS systems (e.g., SAP, Maximo)., • Familiarity with diagnostic hardware/software (Emerson 2140/AMS preferred).
