One of our leading clients is looking to recruit a Quantity Surveyor with active membership MRICS / FRICS / RICS / AssocRICS or similar. Location – Main base/office location is Peterborough/Cambridgeshire with projects running up to York so will be some site visits along the A1 so covering East Midlands, Lincolnshire, Yorkshire. Initial 3-month contract to start ASAP £500 – 600 per day Inside IR35 Must be based local to Peterborough (within 1 hour) You will be responsible for all financial and contractual aspects of construction projects, providing cost estimation and planning, contract management, financial oversight, risk management, and ensuring compliance with relevant standards and regulations. You will support tender evaluation, negotiate contracts, audit contractor records, and prepare detailed reports to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. Experience: • Experience working as a Quantity Surveyor / QS / Commercial Manager, • MRICS / FRICS / RICS / AssocRICS active membership, • NEC4 contract experience, • Large scale construction / engineering projects, • Commercial support managing and administering all contractual relationship including procurement and site teams., • Contract Management – manage multiple contracts within a defined portfolio ensuring project and site team understand contractual arrangements., • Financial Management – manage spend to date and forecast spend in line with contract terms, • Risk Management – support the risk management process and the continual development of the Risk Register with the PM., • Tender evaluation – support the evaluation and negotiation process, providing professional advice,, • Dispute Resolution – Lead dispute resolution efforts by providing professional advice, • Reporting – ensure all contracts are properly administered professionally, and all relevant stakeholders are kept informed of all commercial issues, • Desirable – any exposure to sector such as - Utilities / Energy / Power industry sector – Gas / Electricity / Water / Nuclear etc

You’ll be making a measurable difference across our affordable housing programme, working with Homes England and government‑funded initiatives to secure and deliver the homes their communities need. Salary The salary for the Senior Development Manager post is £70,811 per annum for applicants who fully meet the requirements of the post. If you’re still developing some of the skills or experience, you can start at a salary 5% or 10% below the spot rate, with clear support and progression opportunities to reach the full amount. You’ll also receive an Essential Car User Allowance starting at £1,250, supporting the travel required across their regional development sites. About you • Experience in sourcing land-led development opportunities and managing residential projects from inception to completion, • Strong financial management skills, and experience with Homes England audit requirements. Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with external partners, stakeholders, and local authorities, • Effective negotiation and project management skills., • Ability to foster engagement with wider community stakeholders such as parish councils.
