Time Appointments are proud to be working on behalf of a well-established Construction Company based in Essex, who are currently recruiting for an experienced Quantity Surveyor/Estimator to join their team. The successful candidate will be a key member of the Commercial team, supporting site and contracts teams to ensure the profitable and efficient delivery of projects. Skills & Experience Required: • Demonstrable experience working as a Quantity Surveyor within a subcontractor environment, • Sound technical knowledge of brickwork, masonry, or closely related trades (preferred), • Strong understanding of UK construction contracts, • Strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills, • Excellent numerical, analytical, and negotiation capabilities, with an eye for detail, • Proven ability to manage multiple projects concurrently and meet deadlines, • Strong IT skills, including the use of Microsoft Packages, and construction accounts management software. Key Responsibilities: • Preparing accurate tender and contract documents, budgets, bills of quantities and other documentation, • Ensuring on-going compliance with quality, safety and environmental objectives, • On-site measurement and measurement of drawings, • Perform risk, value management and cost control, • On-going cost analysis of maintenance and repair work, • Identify, analyse, and develop responses to commercial risks, • Analysing sub-contractors’ quotations, • Accurate preparation and agreement of variation accounts, interim valuations, and final accounts, • Preparing and issuing certification for contract payments to sub-contractors Core Benefits (Subject to eligibility): • Competitive salary (dependent on experience), • Car allowance, • Participation in the Employee Ownership Trust (EOT), with potential tax-efficient bonuses, • Long-term career progression within a stable and growing business, • Opportunity to work on high-quality residential and commercial projects, • Supportive, collaborative, and people-focused working environment, • Company pension scheme, • Private medical insurance
