From early planning through to post-completion, we deliver the assessments that architects, planning consultants, and developers rely on to keep projects moving. We specialise in: • SAP & SBEM Assessments, • Energy Statements & Sustainability Statements, • TM59/TM52 Overheating (outsourced to our specialist partner), • Daylight & Sunlight Modelling, • Whole Life-Cycle Carbon & Circular Economy, • Decarbonisation Strategy & Net Zero Planning We work with architects, developers, housing associations and commercial estates nationwide — including portfolios such as Camden Market, MOD sites, Trident Group (900+ buildings), and major residential developers. With continued growth and expansion of our planning and sustainability services, we are now looking to add a technically strong Sustainability & Energy Assessor to our team. The Role This role focuses on delivering high-quality SAP, SBEM, Energy Statements and related planning reports. You will support clients from early-stage feasibility through to construction and completion, ensuring smooth project delivery and clear technical guidance. You will not be required to undertake IES/TM59 thermal modelling as a core part of the role — this is delivered through our external specialist partner. However, you will have opportunities to gain exposure to advanced modelling, IES-VE and wider sustainability analysis as part of long-term development. This is the ideal role for someone who enjoys analytical work, problem-solving, and helping architects and developers navigate the complexities of Part L and planning compliance. Key Responsibilities • Produce SAP and SBEM assessments and issue EPCs for domestic and non-domestic buildings, • Prepare high-quality Energy Statements and Sustainability Statements for planning submissions, • Review drawings, specifications and construction information for compliance with Part L, • Provide clear and concise technical advice to architects, developers, and design teams, • Collaborate with team members on planning reports and technical documentation, • Support delivery of daylight & sunlight analysis (training provided), • Gain exposure to Whole Life-Cycle Carbon, Circular Economy and net-zero reporting, • Participate in internal QA, methodology development and continuous improvement About You You are technically strong, commercially aware, and keen to grow within a business that offers genuine career progression. You’re comfortable managing multiple projects and confident communicating recommendations to clients and design teams. Essential: • Minimum 1–2 years’ experience in SAP, SBEM or planning-related energy assessments, • Proficiency in Elmhurst, Stroma or equivalent Part L assessment tools, • Good working knowledge of Part L and planning policy (e.g., London Plan), • Strong attention to detail and analytical mindset, • Ability to interpret plans, sections and specifications, • UK-based, with full right to work Desirable: • Experience preparing planning Energy Statements, • Exposure to daylight/sunlight, sustainability, or wider environmental assessments, • Understanding of Whole Life-Cycle Carbon or net-zero frameworks, • Interest in developing skills in IES-VE or M&E (optional, long-term pathway) What We Offer • Fully remote working, • Clear development pathway into advanced modelling, WLC, and M&E (optional), • Private medical insurance, • Professional memberships covered (Elmhurst, CIBSE, etc.), • Company laptop and phone, • 25 days holiday + bank holidays, • Quarterly team meet-ups and industry events, • Opportunity to shape a growing department as we expand nationally Why Join Us At Focus 360 Energy, you’re not just completing assessments — you’re contributing to the full compliance lifecycle of projects across the UK.
