Position Summary This role involves managing a varied caseload of professional indemnity matters, with a strong focus on construction‑related disputes and architect liability claims. You’ll support senior lawyers on complex, high‑value matters while also running your own files independently. Key Responsibilities Casework & Legal Support • Assist partners and senior associates with their caseloads, • Proactively manage your own portfolio of professional indemnity cases, • Work collaboratively on large, complex, and high‑value matters, • Prepare detailed reports, correspondence, pleadings, and other court documents, • Advise clients on liability, coverage, and policy interpretation, • Liaise with insurer and insured clients, experts, witnesses, counsel, and other stakeholders, • Ensure compliance with service level agreements, internal processes, and regulatory requirements Team Leadership & Development • Delegate work to junior solicitors and trainees, supporting their development, • Help supervise trainees, paralegals, and apprentices, • Contribute to team knowledge sharing and best practices Client & Business Engagement • Build strong relationships with insurer clients and industry partners, • Support business development initiatives and contribute to client growth, • Provide timely and accurate management information as required About You You will have demonstrable experience in professional indemnity work, particularly within the construction sector, and a solid understanding of insurance litigation. Required Experience & Skills • 3+ years PQE (or equivalent experience), • Developing expertise in professional indemnity, especially construction and architect claims, • Experience in insurance litigation and policy coverage analysis, • Understanding of commercial insurance policies, reporting structures, reserving philosophies, and insurer/broker relationships, • Strong legal analysis, drafting, and attention to detail, • Ability to manage deadlines, prioritise effectively, and work under pressure, • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and client‑facing skills, • Strong organisational and time‑management abilities, • Confident working both independently and as part of a team, • Proficient IT skills and a positive, collaborative attitude Desirable • Experience with other professional risk claims, • Previous secondment or employment within an insurance organisation
