Manufacturing Engineer (Precision Engineering / Continuous Improvement) Location: Leicestershire Salary: £35,000 £45,000 DOE Sector: Low-volume, high-value engineered products Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time About the Role A UK manufacturer of technically complex, low-volume engineered products is looking to recruit a Manufacturing Engineer to support process improvement, new product introduction and day-to-day production support within a precision machining and assembly environment. This is a hands-on position working closely with production, engineering and quality teams to drive improvements in cost, quality and delivery while supporting ongoing continuous improvement activity. Key Responsibilities Support new product introduction activities and ensure products are designed for manufacture. Assist in developing and improving manufacturing processes, routings, work instructions and SOPs. Contribute to Lean and Continuous Improvement projects to reduce waste and improve efficiency. Provide day-to-day technical support to machining and assembly operations. Evaluate and implement new tooling, fixtures and methods to improve reliability and repeatability. Support make vs buy decisions with technical and cost-based input. Candidate Profile Degree, HNC or apprenticeship in Mechanical, Manufacturing or Production Engineering (or similar). Experience in a precision engineering, machine build or electro-mechanical manufacturing environment. Understanding of Lean / CI tools (5S, Kaizen, root cause analysis, standard work etc.). Confident communicator with a proactive, problem-solving approach. Desirable: experience with CAD/CAM (e.g. SolidWorks), CNC processes, metrology, ERP/MRP systems.
