Electrical Maintenance Engineer \n Location: Birmingham \n Shift Pattern: Continental Shifts (4 days, 4 off, 4 nights, 4 off) \n Salary £54,000 + overtime \n Elevation Recruitment Group is working in partnership with a well-established manufacturing business in Birmingham to recruit an Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join their maintenance team. \n This is an excellent opportunity for a maintenance engineer to play a key role in maintaining production equipment, minimising downtime, and supporting continuous improvement activities within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. \n Key Responsibilities of the Electrical Maintenance Engineer \n\n • Carry out planned preventative, corrective, and reactive maintenance across plant equipment and site facilities.\n, • Install, maintain, and repair electrical and electro-mechanical machinery and equipment.\n, • Diagnose faults and perform effective repairs to minimise downtime.\n, • Operate and develop preventative maintenance schedules and systems.\n, • Program, fault-find, and interrogate Siemens and other PLC systems.\n, • Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and provide technical support to production teams.\n, • Read, interpret, and update electrical drawings and documentation.\n, • Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability and performance.\n\n About You \n To be successful in this Electrical Maintenance Engineer role, you will ideally have: \n\n • A recognised electrical apprenticeship and relevant technical qualifications (NVQ, ONC, HNC, or equivalent).\n, • 18th Edition\n, • Strong electrical fault-finding and diagnostic skills.\n, • Experience working with PLCs, including fault-finding and interrogation.\n, • Knowledge of SCADA systems.\n, • Previous experience carrying out preventative maintenance activities.\n, • Experience of condition monitoring techniques.\n, • The ability to read, interpret, and amend electrical schematics and drawings.\n, • Understanding of variable speed drives, including setup and configuration.\n, • Good knowledge of IEE Wiring Regulations.\n, • Experience with vacuum technology, forges, and presses.\n, • Previous experience within a medium to heavy engineering or manufacturing environment.\n, • A strong understanding of safe working practices, including Permit to Work (PTW) systems and risk assessments.\n\n For a confidential discussion and further information about this opportunity, contact Kerry Hill. \n Suited candidates previously hold roles such as \n Maintenance Technician, Electrical Maintenance Technician, Maintenance Craftsman, Multi-skilled Maintenance Technician, Maintenance Assistant, Electrical craftsman, Mechanical Engineer, Electrical Technician, Maintenance Electrician \n The postholder may come into contact with technology or equipment controlled by local and/or U.S. Government legislation and will be required to undertake specific security screening protocols.
