Head of Finance Salary: Negotiable plus bonus Location: Stockton On Tees Hours: Monday – Friday Reporting: To the Finance Director Type: Permanent Purpose: The purpose of this role is to ensure the financial health of the company. Producing financial reports and developing strategies based on financial research. Guiding senior executives in making sound business decisions in the long and short term. Duties: • To actively live and instil our company values: customer centric, appreciation, integrity, reliability, respect, responsibility., • To follow health, safety and environmental guidelines and procedures in respect of personal and department activities., • Review all financial data and prepare monthly and annual financial statements in line with UK GAAP and or IFRS ensuring all statutory filings are accurate and submitted in line with deadlines, • Understand and adhere to financial regulations and legislation. Advise the Finance Director of any changes to Tax or related law or practices which may impact of the Company’s financial position., • Ensure accurate and compliant VAT reporting, including European VAT reporting obligations and cross-border compliance., • Ensure we remain compliant in relation to our US Legal Entity from a Statutory, Tax, accounting and banking point of view., • Ensure financial records are maintained in accordance with data protection legislation., • Ensure effective controls are in place and regularly reviewed to safeguard the company’s assets and maintain financial integrity by establishing and maintaining robust financial policies and procedures for the company., • Day to day line management of the Finance Department team. Providing strong leadership and direction for the team to ensure efficient operations on a day-to-day basis., • Monitor the day-to-day financial operations within the company, such as Payroll, Purchase Ledger and Credit Control., • The key contact for outside services including tax preparation, auditing, banking, investments, and other financial needs as necessary., • Track the company's financial status and performance to identify areas for potential improvement., • Research and analyse financial reports and market trends, • Provide insightful information and expectations to senior executives to aid in long-term and short-term decision making., • Present financial reports to stakeholders and executives in formal meetings, • Stay up to date with technological advances and accounting software to be used for financial purposes, • Manage and control income, cash flow and expenditure, • The preparation of annual budgets, and rolling forecasting information., • Lead in the preparation of year end information to the required standard ready for year-end accounts and audit, • Oversee the management and administration of the Company’s payroll function and auto enrolled pension scheme and fulfil any statutory obligations in relation to HM Revenue & Customs, • Contribute to the overall strategic and operational direction and objectives of the Company, • Carry out any other reasonable duties requested by the Finance Director. Requirements: • Demonstrable experience of financial statement and management accounting, • Demonstrable understanding of business principles and practices, • Demonstrable experience of leadership skills and experience and employee management, • Demonstrable experience in the preparation of business plans, financial planning, forecasting, budgeting and viability analysis, • Demonstrable experience of policy and procedural development in the delivery of the finance function, • Demonstrable experience in the management and operation of monthly payroll, • Demonstrable experience of producing financial reports for a range of audiences, • Qualification and or experience in Management / Leadership, • Advanced degree in accounting, business, economics, finance, or a related field (CIMA, ACCA, ACA), • Experience of Navision
