About the Job Job Title: Programme Manager (Confidential Opportunity) Vacancy Type: Permanent, Full-Time Area: Hybrid – with regular travel Salary: £50,000 – £62,000 DOE Are you an experienced Project Manager with a passion for delivering complex, large scale technical and capital projects? SRG is supporting a confidential client in the innovation and advanced manufacturing sector who is looking to appoint a skilled Programme Manager to support the delivery of major CAPEX programmes across multiple sites. This organisation has a strong history of delivering significant pilot plant builds, open access innovation centres and large scale technical infrastructure projects. You will play a key role in leading the design, build and implementation of major capital programmes, working closely with technical teams, contractors and senior stakeholders. Key Responsibilities of the Programme Manager Role: • Act as the main point of contact between the organisation, contractors and suppliers., • Manage risks, issues and dependencies to ensure delivery against agreed scope., • Oversee contractor performance, CAPEX contracts, change control, governance and milestones., • Work alongside Technical Leads to define delivery plans, roles and responsibilities., • Manage programme finances including budgeting, forecasting and reporting., • Support the delivery of grant‑funded projects, maintaining audit‑ready documentation., • Communicate effectively with stakeholders and manage deviations where required., • Support programme governance, reporting processes and continuous improvement., • Coach and mentor junior project managers and asset engineering colleagues. Qualifications and Requirements: • Degree‑qualified in a scientific, engineering or business field, or significant programme management experience., • Proven track record delivering complex, multi‑disciplinary technical projects and programmes., • Experience managing construction, infrastructure or major CAPEX projects (typically £500k+)., • Strong understanding of project management methodologies (APM PMQ, IPMA Level D, or similar beneficial)., • Experience managing multiple concurrent programmes., • Knowledge of grant funding mechanisms and regulatory requirements., • Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to challenge at senior level., • Commercially aware with strong strategic decision‑making capabilities., • Experience mentoring or developing junior team members. Desirable: • Experience delivering projects under NEC4 or similar construction contracts., • Background in innovation, R&D or technical environments., • Experience with public and private sector funded programmes., • Exposure to facility builds or major facility expansions.
