This role is based within a 5-bed community-based residential home supporting adults with learning disabilities and complex needs. You will play a vital part in ensuring residents receive compassionate safe and person-centred care throughout the night. We are seeking a dedicated and caring Night Care Worker to provide high-quality overnight support to residents. You will ensure their safety comfort and wellbeing while also carrying out routine night-time domestic duties. This role requires patience reliability strong observational skills and the ability to work independently during quiet hours while managing any urgent or unexpected situations calmly and professionally. • Provide personal care and support to residents throughout the night according to individual care plans., • Assist residents with mobility hygiene eating/drinking and comfort needs., • Serve snacks and assist with feeding where necessary., • Respond promptly to emergency bells and assess situations escalating to senior staff/on-call as required., • Carry out scheduled checks on residents with respect privacy and dignity., • Conduct regular checks of the building to ensure safety fire prevention and security measures are maintained., • Report incidents risks or concerns immediately to senior staff., • Complete domestic tasks appropriate for night hours including simple food preparation., • Administer medication as directed in line with care plans (including emergency medication)., • Maintain accurate records reports and handover notes for day staff., • Participate in supervision sessions staff meetings and resident meetings as required., • Attend training and development activities to maintain safe practice and professional standards., • Uphold all safeguarding responsibilities and confidentiality requirements., • Work weekends and bank holidays as part of a rota., • Experience in a caring role., • Experience supporting vulnerable adults in a residential or care environment., • Understanding of health & safety and risk in care settings., • Ability to follow care plans and maintain accurate records., • Strong communication skills with residents families and professionals., • Caring patient and professional approach., • Able to work independently through the night., • Reliable punctual and flexible., • Level 2 Diploma in Health & Social Care (or willingness to work towards it)., • Awareness of assessment planning and review processes in care., • Awareness of the needs of individuals with learning disabilities., • Enhanced DBS check, • Right to Work in the UK, • Satisfactory references, • Compliance with safeguarding GDPR and organisational policies, • Ability to work weekends and bank holidays as per rota, • Make a meaningful difference in the lives of adults with complex needs, • Supportive working environment focused on teamwork and person-centred care, • Opportunities for training development and qualifications
