We're seeking a motivated Management Accountant to support our Senior Finance Business Partner and wider team in producing period and annual financial statements. In this pivotal role, you'll take ownership of account reconciliations, prepare journals, and analyse financial information, ensuring all work is completed to a high standard and in line with our scheduled plans. You'll bring a proactive, improvement-focused mindset, prioritising work effectively, carrying out thorough investigations, and challenging existing processes to enhance efficiency and control. With strong attention to detail and a commitment to robust processes and policies, you'll help maintain a strong control environment while developing your own expertise through professional learning and shared knowledge. Within this role you'll also be involved in; • Preparing accurate, well-supported journal entries that contribute to reliable financial reporting., • Working closely with Senior Finance Business Partners and the Finance Manager to deliver timely, high-quality management accounts and year-end financial statements., • Maintaining a clear and comprehensive audit trail, actively supporting the year-end audit by providing information and confidently responding to auditor queries., • Strengthening our Balance Sheet integrity by preparing a full suite of periodic reconciliations and participating in review meetings to discuss findings and insights., • Building your expertise across the team by learning and providing cover for key activities in other finance roles., • Analysing financial data and general ledger balances to support decision-making and meet the needs of the business., • Ensuring full compliance with legal, tax and regulatory requirements, as well as adhering to company financial policies and procedures., • Supporting the wider finance team with additional tasks as required, contributing flexibly to shared goals., • Maintaining a secondary competency area to support effective contingency planning., • Keeping your training and professional competencies up to date to ensure we can continue delivering essential services, even during periods of disruption. What you'll need: • Proven experience in an Assistant Accountant, Management Accountant, or similar role, with solid exposure to core accounting processes., • Professionally driven, currently studying toward or already holding a recognised accounting qualification (CIMA, ACCA, ACA)., • Highly proficient in Excel, confident with VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, macros, and comfortable navigating accounting and bespoke finance systems., • Clear and confident communicator, able to convey information effectively in written, verbal, and interpersonal settings., • Analytical and detail-focused, with strong numerical skills and a commitment to accuracy in all aspects of work., • Organised and resilient, able to manage competing priorities, work well under pressure, and deliver to tight deadlines., • Adaptable and proactive, eager to learn new systems and processes, and known for bringing a positive, solutions-focused attitude., • A collaborative team player, with a professional, supportive approach and strong planning and organisational abilities.
