Our client, a leading specialist provider of youth care, is seeking a passionate Senior Support Worker to join their small-scale residential settings in Leeds and Bradford. In this essential role based in Leeds and Bradford, you will be a vital figure in supporting young people with EBD/SEMH needs, providing stability, safety, and encouragement to help them thrive. You will take on a leadership position, guiding residential staff and ensuring the homes operate smoothly and safely. Key Responsibilities: Lead the Way: Plan and manage shifts in Leeds and Bradford, ensuring young people are safe, engaged, and supported throughout the day. Support & Guidance: Mentor staff members, ensuring care plans are followed and professional standards are maintained within Leeds and Bradford’s residential settings. Positive Engagement: Use PACE (Playfulness, Acceptance, Curiosity, Empathy) and Team Teach strategies to promote positive behaviour and develop young people’s self-control in Leeds and Bradford. Educational Advocacy: Encourage and support attendance and engagement in education for young people in Leeds and Bradford’s care schemes. Safeguarding: Act as a vigilant protector, adhering to safeguarding protocols and risk assessments in Leeds and Bradford’s homes. What You’ll Bring: Qualifications: Level 3 or 4 Diploma in Residential Childcare (completed or at least 50% achieved). Experience: Proven background in children’s residential care, with specific experience working with EBD/SEMH needs and challenging behaviour in Leeds and Bradford. Leadership Skills: Confidence to lead a team, manage emergency shifts, and support colleagues emotionally in Leeds and Bradford. Skills: Strong communication, IT, and administrative abilities, with knowledge of Children’s Homes Regulations. Flexibility: Willingness to work shifts including evenings, weekends, and sleep-ins in Leeds and Bradford. Driving License: A manual driving license is highly desirable for travel between Leeds and Bradford. Why Join Us?
