Role: Residential Childcare Worker Salary: 33351.52 - 33759.20 (This includes an average of 12 sleep-ins per month). Hours: 39.2 hours per week. Rota Pattern: 5-week rolling rota. 2 days on shift and 3 days off pattern. 55 paid per sleep-in carried out. Annual Leave: 28 days annual leave as standard. This rises by an additional day for every year of service up to 5 years. Young People; Support the Registered Manager in ensuring that each young person has their needs met through effective assessment and care planning. Review and monitor care plans ensuring that they are up to date and contribute to review reports as directed. Communicate relevant information to other staff in the home. Supervise and be involved in in young peoples social life-long learning plans and recreational activities in line with care plans. Assist in the management of behavioural difficulties and young people in vulnerable situations within the policies and procedures set out by Northridge Care Group Ltd. Provide an emotionally secure consistent warm supportive and nurturing environment appropriate to the physical social cultural and religious needs of young people. Act as a Key worker to a young person taking on responsibility for specified areas of care and support including ensuring all medical needs are met and supporting the young person to advocate for their own needs and wishes. Work in a way that ensures the home meets Ofsted standards. Ensure that you contribute positively to the safeguarding culture at Northridge Care Group Ltd. Safeguard and protect the health and well-being of children. Ensure that you work in a way that demonstrates a commitment to the rights of people with emotional & challenging behaviours and learning difficulties. Ensure that strategies developed in response to challenging behaviours are consistently applied in the home and contribute to their ongoing review and development. Support and motivate young people to maintain good levels of personal/environmental hygiene. In line with policies and procedures administer medication and ensure that medical emergencies are dealt with appropriately. Ensure that young peoples personal property and clothing is maintained to a high standard and report any requirements to the Registered Manager. Ensure that you work in accordance with all Company policies and procedures. Practice integrity in all dealings with young peoples personal and financial affairs and avoid abuse of the privileged relationship that exists with young people. Facilitate and support young people in individual and collective decision making. Promote choice and involvement. Participate in Staff and young peoples meetings when required maintaining records as needed. Training and Development; Maintain your own skills and knowledge undertaking all mandatory and developmental training as required. Health and Safety; Report to the Registered Manager any infectious illness or accident incurred by a young person colleague or other person. Ensure that all Health and Safety Emergency and Fire policies and procedures are followed. Support Registered Managers in ensuring compliance. Ensure that equipment is clean and well-maintained report any damage faults or hazards to the Registered Manager and / or Handyperson. Promote safe working practice within the Northridge Care Group organisation. Ensure that the security of your home is maintained at all times. General; At all times promote and ensure anti discriminatory practice. Assist in maintaining financial records in line with Company policies and procedures. Carry out administrative tasks as and when required. Welcome visitors. Provide refreshments/assistance as and when required. Person Specification Experience and Qualifications; GCSE Maths and English (or equivalent) Skills & Abilities; Proven ability to work as part of a team and to use own initiative when necessary. Commitment to working with young people in a respectful way that honours their wishes. Self-motivated flexible and enthusiastic with the ability to motivate others to achieve their goals Good written and verbal communication skills. Able to tailor communication to groups with differing levels of engagement and understanding (young people families etc) Able to build positive relationships with young people their families and colleagues. Works collaboratively with others sharing ideas and information at all times Able to work in a solution focused way Knowledge and understanding of issues relating to young people with emotionally challenging behaviours and / or learning difficulties Knowledge of care planning systems Able to make justified decisions based on limited information Behaviours; Has a strong work ethic is reliable and flexible Is honest and trustworthy with high levels of personal integrity Has high standards of personal presentation Ensures own punctuality Acts with kindness patience empathy and compassion Is pro-active and accountable for own actions Self-motivated Demonstrates a commitment to equality diversity and inclusion Is committed to own ongoing personal development and training.
