Junior Mechanical Project Manager | M&E Building Services | South Coast | £45,000 – £55,000 + Car/Allowance + Bonus\n\nThis is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious Junior Mechanical Project Manager, Mechanical Supervisor, or Site Engineer looking to step into a structured project management role with a respected M&E Building Services contractor.\n\nThe position is ideally suited to someone based along the South Coast or within a commutable distance of the wider Hampshire/Dorset region, offering a hands-on pathway into full project management within a supportive and growing business.\n\nAbout the Company\n\nThis opportunity is with a well-established M&E Building Services contractor known for delivering high-quality mechanical and electrical installations across a range of sectors. The business has built long-standing client relationships and is recognised for its supportive, team-focused culture and commitment to developing its people.\n\nThe Role\n\nThis is a development-focused position offering excellent exposure to the full project lifecycle, working alongside experienced Project Managers and Contracts Managers.\n\nThe role is heavily site-based and hands-on, providing the opportunity to learn through live project delivery while gradually taking on more responsibility. You will support the coordination and delivery of mechanical building services installations, with a clear pathway to managing your own projects as your experience develops.\n\nProjects are typically delivered across the South Coast and surrounding areas, including commercial, healthcare, education, and refurbishment works, with mechanical package values generally ranging from £100k to £2m.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\n * Supporting the delivery of mechanical building services projects from pre-construction through to completion\n\n * Assisting with procurement of plant, materials, and subcontract packages\n\n * Coordinating site teams, subcontractors, and suppliers\n\n * Supporting project planning, progress tracking, and reporting\n\n * Assisting with technical submissions and project documentation\n\n * Attending site meetings and liaising with clients, consultants, and subcontractors\n\n * Supporting commercial activities including variations, valuations, and cost tracking\n\n * Ensuring works are delivered safely and in line with programme requirements\n\nRequirements\n\n * Background within Mechanical Building Services (contractor or installation environment)\n\n * Experience working on HVAC systems, pipework, heating, ventilation, or public health systems\n\n * Experience in a Mechanical Supervisor, Site Engineer, or similar role\n\n * Strong organisational and communication skills\n\n * Keen to progress into a Project Manager role\n\n * Comfortable working on site and travelling across multiple project locations\n\n * Full UK driving licence\n\nRemuneration Package – Junior Mechanical Project Manager\n\n * £45,000 – £55,000\n\n * Company Car or Car Allowance\n\n * Bonus\n\n * Pension\n\n * Laptop and Mobile\n\n * Ongoing training and career development\n\nThis role would suit candidates currently working as:\n\nMechanical Supervisor, Mechanical Site Manager, Mechanical Engineer, Mechanical Foreman, HVAC Engineer, Mechanical Project Engineer, Junior Mechanical Project Manager.\n\nNext Steps\n\nPlease apply online today, or contact Rob at David Leslie Ltd for an informal and confidential discussion.\n\nAbout David Leslie Ltd\n\nDavid Leslie Ltd is a family-run construction recruitment consultancy with over 20 years’ experience connecting professionals and employers across the UK.
