This is a fantastic opportunity for a driven operational leader to take ownership of a large-scale manufacturing operation, combining modern manufacturing techniques with a strong focus on quality, craftsmanship, continuous improvement, and customer satisfaction. \n Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will lead a substantial production workforce, driving performance across productivity, quality, safety, and cost whilst developing a culture of accountability, engagement, and operational excellence. \n The Role \n Key responsibilities will include: \n\n • Leading daily manufacturing operations to achieve production, quality, service, and cost targets.\n, • Developing and implementing production plans aligned with customer demand and business objectives.\n, • Ensuring products are manufactured to the highest quality standards.\n, • Monitoring operational performance through KPIs and implementing corrective actions where required.\n, • Working closely with Planning, Supply Chain, Engineering, Quality, and Commercial teams to optimise performance.\n, • Driving Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement initiatives to improve productivity, efficiency, and throughput.\n, • Identifying opportunities to reduce waste, improve material utilisation, and enhance manufacturing processes.\n, • Optimising workflow, workshop layouts, workstation design, and production sequencing.\n, • Managing production costs and supporting inventory and stock control activities.\n, • Utilising MRP and other manufacturing systems for planning, scheduling, labour deployment, and reporting.\n, • Developing capacity and resource plans to meet changing customer demand.\n, • Leading, coaching, and developing a large production team.\n, • Building a high-performance culture focused on safety, quality, and continuous improvement.\n, • Managing workforce planning, training, succession planning, and employee development initiatives.\n, • Supporting apprentice development and knowledge transfer programmes.\n, • Championing a quality-first culture and driving right-first-time manufacturing.\n, • Maintaining exceptional Health & Safety standards across the operation.\n, • Promoting world-class housekeeping standards through 5S methodologies.\n\n About You \n To be successful in this position, you will demonstrate: \n\n • Significant experience in a senior manufacturing leadership role.\n, • Proven success managing large production teams within a manufacturing environment.\n, • A strong track record of delivering operational improvements and driving business performance.\n, • Experience implementing Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, or Six Sigma methodologies.\n, • Strong knowledge of production planning, workforce management, and performance optimisation.\n, • Experience using ERP systems.\n, • Excellent leadership, communication, and people development skills.\n, • A hands-on management style with the ability to engage and motivate teams at all levels.\n\n\n, • Experience working within a quality-focused manufacturing environment.\n\n What's on Offer? \n\n • Opportunity to join a highly respected and growing manufacturing business.\n, • Significant leadership responsibility within a large-scale production operation.\n, • A business committed to quality, continuous improvement, and employee development.\n, • Competitive salary and benefits package.
