Are you currently working as a Construction Administrator, Site Administrator, Project Administrator, Technical Administrator or Office Administrator and feel you've hit a ceiling in a traditional admin role? This is an excellent opportunity to step into a Junior Document Controller position with a well-established construction contractor and begin a long-term career in Document Control. The role sits within the company's Design Management team, making it ideal for someone who wants to move away from purely administrative duties and gain valuable technical experience managing drawings, construction documentation and project information. You do not need previous Document Controller experience. Full training will be provided. What matters is strong administration experience within construction, excellent attention to detail and a desire to progress into a specialist construction support role. Working alongside experienced Design Managers and project teams, you'll develop the skills, knowledge and systems experience required to build a successful career in Document Control. The Role As a Junior Document Controller, you will support the management, control and distribution of project documentation across multiple construction projects, ensuring information is accurate, up to date and readily available to project teams. You will work closely with Design Managers, Site Teams, Commercial Teams, Subcontractors, Consultants and Clients, helping maintain document control procedures and ensuring project information is managed efficiently throughout the project lifecycle. This position offers the ideal bridge between Construction Administration and Document Control, providing clear progression and structured development within the Design Management function. Responsibilities • Upload, distribute and track construction drawings and technical documents, • Maintain document registers, trackers and electronic filing systems, • Ensure document control procedures are followed across all projects, • Monitor drawing revisions and update project records accordingly, • Issue project correspondence and technical documentation, • Support Design Managers and project teams with document management activities, • Maintain accurate records across multiple live construction projects, • Liaise with clients, consultants, subcontractors and site teams, • Produce reports using Excel and internal document management systems, • Archive project documentation in line with company procedures, • Assist with drawing control and revision management, • Support project teams with general construction administration when requiredSkills & Experience Required, • Previous experience as a Construction Administrator, Site Administrator, Project Administrator, Technical Administrator or Office Administrator, • Experience working within the construction industry, • Strong Microsoft Office skills, including Excel and Outlook, • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy, • Strong organisational and communication skills, • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines, • Professional and proactive approach to work, • Keen to develop a career in Document Control, • Positive attitude and willingness to learn, • Interest in construction drawings, technical documentation and project information managementWhy Apply?
