Customs process, customs systems, HMRC regimes and full working knowledge of CDS is required. You will be diligent and accurate in your attention to detail, with strong communication and customer relationship skills. The working hours for this role are Monday-Friday 9am-5:30pm with 3 days minimum in the office and up to 2 days per week from home once probation is passed. Some of the many benefits we can offer in return: • Excellent salary package up to £37k per annum depending on experience, • Hybrid working arrangement: The hybrid arrangement is 3 days on site/ office based - and 2 days remote/ from home. *This arrangement will be actioned following a 3 month probation period., • 25 days annual leave, plus all UK bank holidays, • Bereavement Leave & Sick Pay, • Pension & Death In Service, • Enhanced Maternity / Paternity & Adoption pay, • Employee Wellbeing Programme What you will be doing: · Enter Import consignments into the in house TMS to facilitate customs clearance. · Understand the information you need to make the inbound clearance, where to obtain it, and complete the entry in accordance with regulations. · Contact customers and other key stake holders such as operators, shippers etc for instruction and information to facilitate clearance. · Understand what documentation is required to ensure a compliant and timely clearance. · Discuss any complex issues or requests to your supervisor / line manager. · Ensure the highest standards of customer service and process compliance within the team. · Tackle any areas of non-compliance and solving problems in an effective and timely manner. · Any other related duty as dictated by your supervisor/manager, from time-to-time. What you will bring to the role: · Skills in Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel. · Strong experience and knowledge with customs processes, customs systems (CDS / Destin8), customs regimes, issue and query resolution. · At least 3 years’ experience preferred in customs declarations and regimes. · Knowledge of Transit systems and the raising of transit documentation · Diligent and accurate attention to detail when processing large amounts of data. · Strong communication and customer relationship skills. · Excellent organisational skills, exceptionally diligent for adhering to rules of compliance and a nose to understand and work out complex problems, with an ability to understand the workings of customs regulations and apply appropriately and correctly.
