Metrology / CMM Engineer Shape the future of precision engineering Are you ready to take ownership of metrology at a strategic level—not just program machines, but redefine how measurement drives performance across an entire engineering group? We’re looking for a forward-thinking Metrology / CMM Engineer to lead the transformation of measurement practices across multiple sites. This is a high-impact role where you’ll move beyond day-to-day programming and step into a position of influence—building a unified, best-in-class metrology strategy that improves accuracy, efficiency, and productivity. The Opportunity You’ll be the driving force behind a Group-wide metrology evolution, starting with CMM optimisation and expanding into a fully standardised measurement framework. From analysing current processes to implementing cutting-edge strategies, your work will directly impact: • Measurement accuracy and repeatability, • Production throughput and efficiency, • Reduction of waste and over-processing, • Review existing CMM programs, measurement strategies, and inspection frequencies, • Identify inefficiencies in equipment use, software, and processes, • Build and deploy a Group-wide CMM & Metrology Strategy, • Standardise programming methods, inspection plans, and reporting structures, • Reduce cycle times through smarter probing strategies and routines, • Introduce automation and minimise operator intervention, • Act as the technical authority for metrology across the business, • Collaborate with Quality, Manufacturing, Design, and Operations teams, • Support audits, customer requirements, and new product introductionsWhat You Bring, • Strong experience as a CMM Programmer/Engineer in aerospace or precision engineering, • Expertise in, • (or similar CMM software), • Solid understanding of GD&T, complex geometries, and engineering drawings, • Proven ability in MSA, SPC, and capability studies, • Exposure to advanced metrology (laser scanning, CT, non-contact systems), • Knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement, • A degree or HNC/HND in Engineering (Mechanical, Aerospace, Manufacturing), • Influence strategy at a group level, • Work across multiple sites and technologies, • Drive real, measurable improvements in performance
