Job Overview The Business Development Manager will play a key role in driving commercial growth across the pharmacy group by expanding external partnerships, increasing service uptake, and ensuring operational performance meets agreed KPIs. Reporting into senior leadership, you will focus on building strong relationships with care homes, GP surgeries, domiciliary care providers, and wider community stakeholders. This is a commercially focused, field-based role requiring strong relationship management, healthcare sector knowledge, and the ability to translate opportunities into sustainable growth. You will also work closely with internal pharmacy teams to ensure smooth onboarding, regulatory compliance, and consistent service quality. Key Responsibilities • Identify, target, and secure new care home contracts for medication dispensing and clinical services, • Build and maintain strong relationships with care home managers, GPs, PCNs, district nurses, and social care teams, • Conduct on-site visits to assess client needs, present services, and support onboarding, • Drive growth across NHS and private services including CPCS, NMS, flu vaccinations, and other advanced services, • Monitor and analyse KPIs including prescription volume, service uptake, onboarding, retention, and customer satisfaction, • Develop and implement action plans with pharmacy managers to improve performance where required, • Lead the onboarding process for new care home clients, ensuring compliance and operational readiness, • Collaborate with pharmacy and delivery teams to ensure effective service delivery and workflow capacity, • Support workforce training on new services, care home processes, and customer service standards, • Represent the organisation at community events, networking sessions, and stakeholder meetings, • Support marketing initiatives including campaigns, digital presence, and community engagement About You • Proven experience in business development within healthcare, pharmacy, or social care environments, • Strong understanding of NHS pharmacy services and care home medication processes, • Confident building relationships with a wide range of healthcare stakeholders, • Commercially driven with the ability to identify and convert growth opportunities, • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and drive performance improvements, • Highly organised, proactive, and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment Requirements • Previous experience in a business development or commercial role within pharmacy or healthcare, • Knowledge of regulatory and compliance requirements within pharmacy or care settings, • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel between sites, • Strong IT and reporting capability Package and Benefits • Competitive salary, • Career development within a growing organisation, • Opportunity to work across a diverse healthcare network, • Supportive and collaborative working environment
