Central Recruitment is working with one of the UK's oldest not-for-profit housing associations, dedicated to providing quality homes and housing services that make a positive difference in communities, while creating an inclusive and supportive workplace. Our client is currently recruiting for an Outreach Support Worker to work in the Tower Hamlets area at a service that provides housing support, advice, and guidance to help customers maintain tenancies, live independently, and prevent homelessness. • 37.5 hours per week, • Monday - Friday, • Shifts: 09:00 - 17:00, • Temporary: approx. 6 weeks (with the possibility of extension), • £16.95 per hour (£14.80 per hour, with £2.15 holiday pay) Please note: this is an outreach role and involves visiting clients in the community and working from the office in Tower Hamlets. Travel expenses can be claimed for this role. Key responsibilities: • Manage a caseload of 21 clients, delivering regular keywork sessions and agreed support plans, • Visit 3-4 clients daily, • Provide pre-tenancy guidance and ongoing support on all tenancy matters, including moving and furnishing, • Support customers to meet tenancy conditions, including liaising with police and courts on housing issues, • Offer basic welfare benefits advice and support access to full entitlements and specialist services, • Help customers develop the skills to manage their tenancy and handle difficult situations, • Support all stages of the service, including referrals, triage, assessments, and crisis intervention, • Contribute to service drop-ins, offering advice, support, and guidance, • Support customers with diverse needs, including housing, mental health, health, and employment, • Signpost customers to external agencies for specialist support, • Review support needs with partners and agree tailored support plans and actions What we’re looking for: • Experience supporting homeless clients, • Up-to-date knowledge of relevant health and safety practices, • Strong understanding of welfare benefits for the client group, • Knowledge of safeguarding policies, procedures, and best practice, • Understanding of housing support needs and delivering flexible, outcome-focused, person-centred support, • Awareness of statutory and voluntary sector services, • Proficient in IT, including Outlook, Word, and Excel Further requirements: In order to register with Central Recruitment Services for temporary agency work, candidates must meet the following criteria: • Current valid right to work in the UK, • Minimum 12 months’ of paid experience in a front line social care role within the last 3 years* (unless recruitment criteria states otherwise), • A fully enhanced DBS either registered on the DBS update service or issued within the last 12 months, or willingness to apply for one through Central (at a cost of £60), • Employment or education history to cover the last 5 years which can be verified through the referencing process How to apply: If you feel that you fully meet the above outlined criteria for this role and would like apply for this post, please forward your CV for consideration. *Please note the outlined experience is the 'minimum' first stage criteria, and we will therefore be unable to consider your application unless you are able to demonstrate a relevant work history in line with this position
