The London Leveraged Finance team is one of the firm’s most active and high‑performing groups, involved in LBO financings, acquisition debt packages, refinancings, recapitalisations, and cross‑border leveraged transactions across Europe. Role Overview We are seeking an exceptional Vice President to join our London Leveraged Finance team. This role offers the opportunity to work on market‑leading transactions for private equity sponsors, corporates, and credit investors while taking on increasing responsibility for deal execution, structuring, syndication, and client engagement. You will play a pivotal role in delivering bespoke financing solutions and driving the execution of complex, high‑profile deals across a wide range of industries. Key Responsibilities Deal Execution & Structuring • Lead day‑to‑day execution of leveraged loan and high‑yield bond transactions, including LBOs, acquisition financings, dividend recapitalisations, and refinancings., • Run full credit analyses and deal structuring processes, including drafting credit papers, lender materials, investor presentations, and rating agency workstreams., • Manage due diligence, legal documentation, and syndication processes in partnership with internal and external stakeholders. Financial Modelling & Analysis • Oversee and review detailed leveraged finance models (LBO, debt sizing, downside cases, covenant capacity)., • Guide Associates/Analysts in developing robust credit and structural analyses to support underwriting decisions. Origination & Client Engagement • Support origination efforts with private equity sponsors and corporate clients through idea generation, capital structure analysis, and thematic market content., • Prepare and present tailored client materials including pitching books, market updates, and financing alternatives. Market Intelligence • Maintain deep understanding of leveraged finance markets, including pricing, syndication dynamics, investor appetite, and regulatory developments., • Build relationships with buyside lenders, CLO managers, direct lending funds, and institutional HY investors. Leadership & Team Development • Mentor and train junior bankers; ensure analytical excellence and execution efficiency across workstreams., • Promote Jefferies’ culture of collaboration, accountability, and entrepreneurial thinking. Qualifications & Experience • 6–9 years of investment banking experience, with at least 3+ years dedicated to Leveraged Finance, Acquisition Finance, Sponsor Coverage, High Yield, or Direct Lending., • Proven track record executing leveraged buyouts and syndicated loan/HY transactions., • Strong technical skill set: LBO modelling, credit analysis, capital structure optimisation, and debt sizing., • Excellent communication and presentation abilities, especially with sponsors, rating agencies, legal counsel, and investors., • Demonstrated leadership abilities and a commitment to developing junior talent., • Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, high‑growth, entrepreneurial environment.
