We are now seeking an Operations Coordinator to join our team and contribute to our vision of delivering exceptional educational experiences. Purpose of the Role The Operations Coordinator will play a key role in supporting the planning, coordination and delivery of CLAN’s programmes. Working closely with the central office team, the post-holder will be involved in pre-summer preparation, recruitment, centre logistics, safeguarding, and operational delivery during the summer period. This is a fully on-site role based at our Edinburgh offices,suited to someone with excellent organisational skills, experience in the language school sector, initiative, and a strong sense of responsibility. During the summer, the Operations Coordinator will act as a Centre Manager, leading on-site delivery and acting as the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL). Key Responsibilities • Coordinate planning, logistics, bookings, and resourcing for summer centres, • Manage communication with suppliers, venues, host institutions, and partners, • Support the CEO with programme scheduling, operational planning, and resource allocation, • Monitor operational budgets and assist with cost tracking across key projects, • Prepare operational handbooks, policies, and staff training materials, • Provide administrative and operational support to the senior management team, • Step in as Centre Manager during summer peak periods, overseeing daily operations, staff performance, and delivery quality, • Develop and lead social programmes in summer and year-round, • Drive recruitment of non-academic staff, assisting HR with compliance documentation and onboarding, • Ensure operational policies are kept up to date, accurate and in-line with Accreditation UK compliance, • Act as DSL (Designated Safeguarding Lead) and maintain high welfare standards Essential Qualifications & Experience • Proven management experience in educational programme operations, preferably with young learners summer courses as Centre Manager, Activity Manager, Welfare Manager or Director of Studies, • Strong leadership and team management abilities, • Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills, • Knowledge of safeguarding and welfare practices, • Experience with budgeting and resource management, • Strong problem-solving and crisis-management abilities, • High level of computer literacy (MS Office, databases, email), • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, • Right to work in the UK, • Valid Enhanced PVG (or willingness to obtain through CLAN) Desirable Qualifications & Experience • 2+ years’ experience in ELT and leadership within multi-site or year-round operations, • Experience managing seasonal or multi-site provision, • Knowledge of Accreditation UK standards, • Safer Recruitment in ELT, • Specialist Safeguarding (Level 3), • First Aid at Work (Level 3) Personal Attributes • Supportive, collaborative leadership style, • Commitment to safeguarding, equality, and inclusion, • Analytical, proactive, and solutions-focused, • Passionate about learner and staff development, • High professional standards and integrity Safeguarding Statement CLAN Language Schools is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
