This position also ensures that labor is assigned in accordance with the negotiated labor contract between IndyGo and its labor union and that total expenditure does not exceed the budget. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES To be successful in this role, an individual must be able to perform the functions listed below in a satisfactory manner. The company will make reasonable accommodations to enable team members with disabilities to perform these functions. • Track and update the vehicle management system and monitor the documentation and records of the vehicles, especially areas related to the inspections, certifications, and servicing., • Devise fleet management strategies for the company and ensure timely execution., • Ensure efficiency and cost-effectiveness of the fleet management system in place and make changes to improve the same., • Monitor and update the records of fleet maintenance tracking software systems., • Adhere to national, regional, and company-wide rules and regulations while performing fleet management operations., • Oversee the repairs and maintenance of the vehicles by planning a sound vehicle management system., • Monitor the compliance, quality control and assurance standards for all areas of fleet management., • Manage the mechanics and supervisors and their job roles and ensure that they stick to the rules and regulations set in place by the company., • Implement, maintain, update and enforce company policy and procedures., • Conduct and coordinate meetings with interdepartmental management to strategize plans and goals for the benefit of the corporation., • Meet with vendors to ensure the department has up to date tools and technology. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES • Directly supervise one or more employees., • Apply supervisory responsibilities according to organizational policies and applicable laws., • Assist with interviews, hiring decisions, and training employees; plans, schedules, assigns, and directs work; sets goals for the staff; evaluates and manages employee performance; addresses complaints and resolves employee issues. EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE To perform his job successfully, a team member must have the following education and/or experience. . • Associates degree, diploma, or vocational training in logistics, supply-chain management, automotive technology, or related field is preferred. An equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered., • Considerable experience (three years) in vehicle maintenance operations and parts supply chain systems is preferred., • Considerable experience (three years) in a fleet or maintenance management role, logistics management, or closely related field is preferred., • Valid Indiana driver’s license.
