Role Overview: As the Franchise Accounting department continues to grow and evolve, we are looking to add automation in increasing volume. These automations would be both within and external to our new accounting software, Epicor Kinetic. The software is highly configurable and allows for automated functions to be written into the software. We are looking for an experienced developer to join our team and support the customization, integration, and optimization of our Epicor Kinetic ERP system. The background of this individual should have a strong SQL database background and the ability to understand and write application solutions in a variety of methods. The main goal of this effort is to simplify and automate user entry and user financial statement review for our 320+ independent businesses. This would be accomplished by the following methods and more where helpful. Essential Responsibilities: • Create and optimize SQL queries as well as user dashboard displays of such queries to automate the monthly review work of both Franchisees and our Franchise Accountants, • Develop, maintain, and enhance function logic for server-side customizations, • Develop, maintain, and enhance integrations with external software and data using REST APIs, • Develop, maintain, and enhance internal tools with VBA to automate document creation and evaluation for Franchise Accountant use, • Maintain documentation for customizations, integrations, and development standards to ensure code clarity, support team collaboration, and enable future development., • Utilize Azure DevOps SOPs established by Christian Brothers Technology team., • Operate within established framework of the Christian Brothers Technology team tech stack., • Demonstrate proactive initiative in identifying development needs and proposing future iterations, automations, and solutions to increase the efficiency of accounting as a whole. Qualifications Education and Experience • BA/BS is preferred, but not required, • 3-5 years of experience building large-scale software applications, • Skilled in building web applications from concept to production (front and backend), • Demonstrated expertise in designing, consuming, and reverse engineering RESTful APIs, including advanced data ingestion and export workflows., • Proficient in handling JSON-based integrations and leveraging VBA to automate and process large datasets in CSV/XLS formats., • Application of devops in CI/CD for on-prem and cloud environments (Azure), • 5+ years experience in programming, • Proficient in SQL/MySQL query writing, comfortable creating database schemas, • Skilled in developing core functions and applications using C# (CSharp), • Experienced in engineering solutions for large-scale data processing, including ETL pipelines, data integration, and optimizing workflows for mass datasets., • Articulate, professional, and able to communicate complex topics in simple terms, • Highly capable in analysis, optimization, debugging, and documentation, • Organized, efficient and agile in tasks and environment, • Capable in technical writing and data presentation, • Can stop/start multiple tasks and pick up where left off quickly, • Servant leadership, consistently looking for ways to improve the team workflow and environment, • Occasionally bending, twisting, and turning., • Sitting for extended periods of time., • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds., • This role will be located at the Support Center in Houston, TX., • A great workplace culture that has won repeated Top Workplace accolades by the Houston Chronicle., • Open office layout to promote collaboration, conversation, and teamwork., • Options to work remote/home on Mondays and Fridays., • Some travel may be required (less than 10%). The Software Engineer (Accounting) will report to the VP of Franchise Accounting and the Director of Strategy & Innovation, collaborating closely with DevOps Base Salary: Competitive and commensurate with experience.
