American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN PCU - Progressive Care Unit for a travel nursing job in Columbus, Ohio. • Specialty: PCU - Progressive Care Unit, • Discipline: RN, • Start Date: 01/05/2026, • Duration: 13 weeks, • 36 hours per week, • Shift: 12 hours, nights, • Employment Type: Travel American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a high-acuity Oncology Progressive Care Unit (PCU) with night shift and active OH or compact RN license required. • Position based in a high-acuity Oncology PCU with 36 beds and over 24 beds dedicated to progressive care, • Primarily adult medical oncology patient population, with rare pediatric patients usually managed by permanent staff, • Care involves complex cases such as solid tumor, orthopedic oncology, and thoracic oncology, • Patient ratios are 1:4-5 for Med Surg Telemetry and 1:3 for PCU level care, • Use of GE B450 monitors for telemetry, Alaris pumps, Stryker beds, bladder scanners, and PCA pumps, • Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 19:00–07:30), with day/night shift options potentially available, • Required to float to units of equal or lower acuity, • Self-scheduling available to request preferred shifts, • EMR system not specified, • Responsibilities focus on high-acuity progressive care for patients requiring complex monitoring and intervention, • Emphasis on infection prevention protocols and fall management, • Orientation includes one week of Monday–Friday day shifts and a second week of on-unit precepted orientation, • Fingerprints for Ohio compliance must be completed promptly upon contract signature, • Must submit any requested time off with initial consideration, • First week of orientation is on day shift, with subsequent orientation shifts scheduled on-unit with a preceptor, • Local candidates are accepted at the same rate as travelers, • Holiday and weekend shifts may be required based on scheduling needs, • Valid OH or compact RN license in hand at the time of consideration, • Graduation from an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program required, • Minimum 1 year of recent high-acuity PCU experience required, • Certifications required: BCLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS), • Skill in interpretation of dysrhythmias and rapid response team participation, • Proficiency required in central line care, blood product administration, PCA management, starting IVs, heparin protocols, cardiac drip management (including titration), and tracheostomy care, • Ability to manage various specialized equipment, including monitors and pumps as outlined in the job details, • Two professional references required, including at least one manager/director or formal supervisor within the past two years, • Oncology experience and previous travel experience preferred but not required, • Former employees eligible if separated from the facility for at least 6 months; current employees are not eligible for travel positions at Ohio State University hospital locations, • High Pay and Bonuses, • Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options, • 401(k) Plan, • Weekly Payroll Deposit, • Free Online CEUs, • Generous Housing Allowance, • Travel and Licensure Reimbursements, • Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy, • Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID #P-641570.
