Job DescriptionJob Title: Maintenance TechnicianJob Description We are seeking a skilled Multi-Craft Mechanic to join our maintenance team in a manufacturing/industrial facility. This role requires a versatile technician proficient in mechanical, electrical, piping, welding, instrumentation, and safety practices. The successful candidate will perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance to ensure reliable operation of plant equipment, while prioritizing safety, quality workmanship, and compliance with all procedures. This position involves hands-on work across multiple crafts and requires a commitment to ongoing training and safety participation. Responsibilities • Complete and properly document issued work orders in the CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System)., • Perform troubleshooting, repair, fabrication, installation, and maintenance on mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and hazardous and non-hazardous gas piping systems., • Safely operate overhead cranes, mobile equipment, and various power/hand tools., • Fabricate, repair, and install plate steel, structural steel components, and various types of piping., • Identify valve types, sizes, styles, materials, and perform related repairs/installations., • Replace and align motors, including interpretation of motor nameplate data., • Use precision measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, indicators) and perform basic math/measurement calculations., • Demonstrate proficiency with oxy/acetylene and plasma cutting equipment., • Identify and apply proper refractory materials and various insulation methods., • Repair hydraulic and pneumatic systems, including component identification and procedures., • Calibrate common field instrumentation such as pH probes and pressure transmitters., • Read and interpret mechanical drawings and electrical schematics and utilize them for repairs., • Perform basic electrical tasks, including use of multi-meters, amp clamps, and various electrical test meters., • Arc weld various materials (stainless steel, carbon steel, Hastelloy, Inconel)., • Identify and work with limit switches and related components., • Demonstrate knowledge of lubricant types, usage, and application locations., • Participate in departmental safety meetings and complete monthly Safety Observations.Essential Skills, • Minimum 5 years of multi-craft experience in an industrial/manufacturing environment (mechanical, electrical, welding, piping, instrumentation)., • Basic computer skills for CMMS, email, and work order systems., • Ability to demonstrate all listed skills through practical evaluation or prior certification., • Strong commitment to safety and following procedures., • Possession of personal hand tools required for the position.Additional Skills & Qualifications, • Education or training in a relevant trade (industrial maintenance, mechanical/electrical technology, welding, or related vocational program)., • Prior experience in chemical, powder processing, or heavy industrial settings., • Welding certifications (stainless, carbon steel, exotic alloys).
