Job Description Job Title: Wiring Technician Job Description The Wiring Technician supports the assembly of mechanical and electrical components and assists in wiring control panels according to schematics and production schedules. This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy hands-on work with tools and electrical components and offers foundational training with clear opportunities to advance into more specialized technical positions. Responsibilities • Assemble and install mechanical and electrical components in control panels according to work instructions and schematics., • Wire electrical components and wire harnesses following electrical schematics and simple electrical diagrams., • Mount and secure electrical components inside control panels using appropriate hardware and tools., • Use basic hand and power tools, such as screwdrivers, wire cutters, drills, and related equipment, in a safe and effective manner., • Follow production schedules to complete assigned tasks accurately and on time., • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in a manufacturing warehouse environment., • Adhere to all safety guidelines, procedures, and best practices while performing wiring and assembly work., • Perform basic measurements and calculations using math skills to support accurate wiring and assembly., • Use basic computer skills to access work instructions, production information, or documentation as needed., • Inspect completed work for quality, accuracy, and proper assembly, taking pride in producing high-quality results., • Comfort using basic hand tools such as screwdrivers, wire cutters, and similar equipment., • Ability to safely operate basic power tools, including drills and related equipment., • Ability to work independently with strong attention to detail and pride in producing quality work., • Basic math skills to support measurements, calculations, and accurate wiring., • Basic computer skills to review work instructions, production schedules, or related documentation., • Physical ability to lift 40–50 lbs. as part of daily tasks in a manufacturing environment., • Wiring experience or aptitude, including working with control panels and wire harnesses., • Interest in understanding how mechanical and electrical systems work., • Motivation to learn new skills and grow into more advanced technical roles., • Coursework or training in electrical, electronics, industrial technology, automation, mechatronics, or related technical fields., • Ability to read simple electrical diagrams, which is helpful but not required., • Enrollment in or completion of technical programs such as Electrical & Electronics Technology, Industrial Technology, Automation, Mechatronics, or similar community college or vocational programs. Work Environment This position is based in a manufacturing warehouse setting in Benicia. You will work around electrical control panels, wiring, and mechanical assemblies, using basic hand tools and power tools as part of your daily tasks. The environment is production-oriented, with work guided by schedules, schematics, and established safety procedures. The role involves standing for extended periods, moving materials, and lifting 40–50 lbs. as needed. Work attire should be appropriate for a manufacturing floor, with closed-toe footwear and any required personal protective equipment provided or specified according to safety guidelines. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Benicia, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $25.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
