Job DescriptionJob Title: Shipping and Receiving Specialist Job Description This role serves as a key member of the warehouse team, focusing on shipping and receiving activities in a manufacturing environment. The Shipping and Receiving Specialist accurately processes inbound and outbound shipments, operates material handling equipment, and maintains organized inventory and documentation while following safety and regulatory requirements. Responsibilities • Receive incoming shipments, verify contents against packing lists and bills of lading, and ensure accuracy of quantities and documentation., • Prepare outbound shipments using FedEx, UPS, or DHL platforms, including creating shipping labels, bills of lading (BOLs), and other required documentation., • Operate forklifts and pallet jacks safely to load, unload, move, and stage materials and finished goods throughout the warehouse and manufacturing facility., • Lift and move items up to 50 pounds unassisted multiple times throughout the day while following proper lifting techniques and safety procedures., • Use a computer to process shipping and receiving transactions, update records, and manage inventory information in a timely and accurate manner., • Check and respond to emails related to shipping schedules, order status, documentation requests, and coordination with internal teams and carriers., • Maintain an organized warehouse by properly labeling, storing, and staging materials, and ensuring that aisles, racks, and work areas remain clean and orderly., • Follow applicable transportation, DOT, and hazmat regulations when handling and preparing shipments that require special handling or documentation., • Collaborate with production, customer service, and logistics teams to meet shipping deadlines and support smooth manufacturing and distribution operations., • Identify and report any shipment discrepancies, damages, or safety concerns and assist in resolving issues promptly., • Adhere to all company policies, safety guidelines, and standard operating procedures while performing daily tasks.Essential Skills, • At least 2 years of hands-on shipping and receiving experience using FedEx, UPS, or DHL platforms, including creating shipping labels and bills of lading (BOLs)., • At least 2 years of forklift operation experience in a warehouse, distribution, or manufacturing environment., • At least 2 years of pallet jack operation experience for moving and staging materials., • At least 2 years of computer operation experience, including basic data entry, system navigation, and email communication., • Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds unassisted multiple times per day., • Experience working in warehouse distribution or manufacturing environments., • Strong organizational skills with the ability to maintain orderly inventory, documentation, and workspaces., • Ability to read, understand, and follow shipping documentation, labels, and safety instructions., • Basic understanding of DOT regulations and hazmat considerations related to shipping and receiving., • Effective communication skills to coordinate with internal teams and external carriers.Additional Skills & Qualifications, • Preferred but not mandatory: DOT and hazmat-related knowledge, training, or certifications., • Experience working in a manufacturing facility with shipping and receiving responsibilities., • Familiarity with using carrier-specific shipping systems for FedEx, UPS, or DHL., • Attention to detail and accuracy when handling documentation and labeling shipments., • Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment and meet shipping deadlines., • Strong problem-solving skills to address shipment discrepancies or logistical issues.Why Work Here? Work Environment The role is based in a manufacturing facility located in Benicia. The schedule is Monday through Friday from 7:15 a.m. to 3:45 p.m., with a 30-minute lunch break. You will work in a warehouse and production setting that involves regular use of forklifts and pallet jacks, handling of materials, and movement of goods throughout the facility. The environment is active and physical, requiring frequent lifting of up to 50 pounds and adherence to safety practices and regulatory guidelines. Standard warehouse and manufacturing attire is expected, suitable for operating equipment and working around machinery and stored materials. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Benicia, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $26.00/hr.
